Seven Days Seven Nights (Nicholas and Nancy) novel Chapter 92

Chapter 92 Christian Carried Nancy Down the Mountain

“Christian, why are you here?”

Nancy was surprised to meet Christian here.

“Today is my father’s death anniversary. I came with my family to visit him. How about you? Why are you here?” Christian asked.

Im sorry to hear that. I’m here to see my mother.”

“Are you alone?”

Christian was surprised.

After all, Christian knew about Nancy and Nicholas’ marriage, so Nancy’s mother can be regarded as Nicholas’ mother-in-law.

Nicholas shouldn’t let his wife pay homage to his mother-in-law alone.

Nancy nodded. “Yeah, I haven’t been here for a while. I miss my mother, so I wanted to visit her.”

At this time, another thunder struck.

Afterwards, raindrops started falling.

It was drizzling at first, but soon, in less than two minutes, it rained heavily.

It was raining cats and dogs. The mountain quickly became blurry and covered by mist.

Nancy and Christian walked down the mountain more quickly.

But Nancy was worried about her baby, and the mountain road was bumpy and slippery, so Nancy had to oversee her way.

“Don’t be scared, follow me.”

At this time, she heard Christian’s voice.

The next moment, Nancy felt warmth in her palms. A pair of big and gentle hands grabbed hers.

“Sorry for the offence, but this is an emergency.”

Nancy heard Christian’s gentle voice through the rain.

She suddenly felt so relieved.

She knew that, as a married young woman, it was inappropriate to let a man hold her hand. despite the heavy rain.

But for the baby’s sake, Nancy didn’t refuse or avoid it.

Because the mountain road was too slippery and there were several stairs in front, she might fall if she walked alone.

She couldn’t imagine the consequence of falling from the stairs here.

Because Christian held her hand, Nancy felt more relieved and dared to move forward boldly.

Christian held Nancy’s hand in the rain and walked forward, followed by Nancy.

His back was broad and tall.

Under the hazy rain, Nancy suddenly felt pain in her heart.

It was because this back looked so familiar.

It looked so similar to Nicholas.

How could it be so similar?

Nancy even thought Nicholas was coming here to pick her up.

The rain soon became heavier.

There was lightning and thunder in the sky. The heavy rain was like splashing water.

While walking down the stairs, Nancy didn’t see the path clearly and suddenly missed the step.

She lost her balance and fell suddenly.

Her heart seemed to have stopped beating for a moment.

Her mind went blank, and she couldn’t think of anything.

Nancy was so scared. She was terrified.

She didn’t open her eyes until she felt a firm embrace. She thought it would be painful but felt nothing on her body.

Realizing that she was in Christian’s arms, Nancy immediately breathed a sigh of relief. “Thank you, Christian. I was scared to death.”

She was so frightened that her heart nearly stopped beating.

Fortunately, Christian saved her.

“Are your feet okay? Are they sprained?” Christian lowered his head and asked.

However, she felt embarrassed because when she almost fell just now, her sandals were broken, and she couldn’t wear them anymore.

“My sandals seem to have broken,” Nancy said, then bent down to take off her sandals.

Then, she said, “I don’t want to wear them anymore. I’ll go barefoot!”

“No.” Christian denied it and explained. “The road is slippery on rainy days. It’s too dangerous for you to go barefoot.”

“But my sandals are broken and can’t be worn anymore. It’s okay. I’ll be careful and walk slower,” Nancy said.

At this time, Christian suddenly bent down before her and said firmly, “Come up here, I’ll carry

you.”

Nancy refused without thinking, “No, I’ve troubled you a lot. How could I let you carry me some

more?”

After all, she was a married woman.

Christian knew her concerns.

He turned around and looked at Nancy seriously. “I know your concerns, don’t worry about it. Whether as a policeman or a friend, this is the right thing to do.”

“Over the years, I’ve conducted rescues under heavy rain. I’ve carried grannies, girls in their twenties, or pregnant women who have just been married. So, don’t be embarrassed. It’s my responsibility.”

“You’re all the same in my heart. I’m just doing my duty, so don’t overthink.”

Christian successfully persuaded her.

Nancy felt much better after hearing his explanation.

“You have to tell me right away when you’re tired. I can come down and walk by myself at any

time.”

“Okay

After getting his promise, Nancy bit her lip and slowly climbed on his back.

Christian carried her on his back and picked up her sandals on the ground with one hand.

“Let me carry the sandals!”

Nancy said immediately, then reached out to take her sandals.
