Chapter 322
She started coughing, and Remington frowned, sitting up to take the glass from her hand and then busily patting her back.
“Careful now.”
Lizetta caught her breath, “I’m okay now.”
She reached for the glass again, but Remington didn’t let go, “Clumsy, let me help you.”
Saying so, he brought the glass to Lizetta’s lips, motioning for her to open her mouth. Lizetta blinked and gently parted her lips.
It was just a simple glass of water, but it tasted sweet to her.
But sometimes, the sweeter the moment, the more precious it becomes, the more one fears losing it.
Lizetta, out of place, thought of Evelina again, remembering her boasting words, she looked at Remington.
“Did you give Evelina a star?”
Remington had just set the glass down, surprised by her sudden question. Remington immediately thought of something, looked at Lizetta with a
thin smile, and nodded.
“Jealous?”
Lizetta huffed, “The star names, globally certified and unchangeable. Some say it’s eternal, quite rare. So, they say, if you love her, give her a star, because that’s the most romantic thing.”
Remington looked at the slight pout on her lips, reaching out to hold her.
“Do you know how many stars are discovered every month now?”
Lizetta shook her head; she wasn’t into astronomy.
She mumbled, “Must be rare, otherwise how could it be romantic?”
But Remington laughed, “That’s what people who don’t know better say. With today’s observation technology, every month thousands of new stars are discovered. What’s so special about that?”
Lizetta stared in shock, “Really?”
Remington tapped her head, “Don’t just follow what others say and embarrass me!”
Lizetta felt wronged, “Are you calling me ignorant and stupid, or are you avoiding the subject? Hmph, you even named that star after Evelina’s name, isn’t it romantic?”
Remington sighed, “First, that star was a gift to that child, because the child was born fatherless. There’s a saying that people become stars when they pass away. I chose a star discovered on the day Quinn passed away to give to that child, hoping it would bring some comfort to Quinn’s spirit. It has nothing to do with Evelina. Second, I gave Evelina the right to name that star. The name was chosen by Evelina herself, nothing to do with me.”
After explaining, Remington pinched Lizetta’s cheek, “Mrs. Dashiell, are you satisfied with this explanation?”
Hearing his explanation, Lizetta felt much better, the cloud lifting, but she pursed her lips, playing hard to get.
“It’s passable, unless you promise me, from now on, never to see Evelina alone. Whenever you see her, I must be there!”

Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....
