Shattered Illusions Love Lies and Redemption (Lizetta and Remington) novel Chapter 812

At that moment, when Lizetta inquired, the man finally spoke up.

"She might be outside, I'll go have a look."

Lizetta nodded but frowned slightly.

She recalled the irresponsible mother they had encountered earlier at the restaurant, who had brought her baby to the hospital without any identification. And now, with the baby taken away, the mother had simply vanished?

This was beyond absurd.

As Remington turned to leave, Lizetta thought for a moment and then said, "Could you ask someone to bring some clean clothes for the baby, along with small towels, diapers, a little blanket, and some toys?"

It seemed the baby's mother had come completely unprepared.

Remington paused, his voice deep and reassuring.

"Don't worry, I've already asked Cedric to bring them over."

Lizetta was surprised he had thought of everything, even before she had, her clear eyes reflecting a ripple of gratitude.

"Thank you," she said.

She knew Remington wasn't usually one to meddle, yet he had helped find a doctor, arranged for a room, and had things sent over, all because she cared for this baby and perhaps because he felt a similar concern.

"What's there to thank? But, do you know this little one?"

"Not really, but it feels like fate. We ran into each other at the restaurant earlier..." Lizetta explained.

Remington almost instantly thought of the crushed velvet flower under Lizetta's foot.

Raising an eyebrow, he asked, "So, your mood at the restaurant was because of this baby?"
