Shattered Illusions Love Lies and Redemption (Lizetta and Remington) novel Chapter 871

Lizetta was visibly irked, glaring at the man before her.

"What more do you want from me? Sure, I accused you unfairly, but let's not forget your track record. You've brought this upon yourself!"

Her glare was fierce, embodying a mix of pride and irrationality.

However, to Remington, her indignation only added to her allure, making her seem even more charming and endearing.

His hand, wrapped around her waist, tightened reflexively, the warmth from his palm searing through the fabric of her dress like a branding iron on Lizetta's skin.

His gaze, deep and intense, locked onto hers as he leaned in, about to seal their argument with a kiss.

Lizetta's cheeks flushed, but as his lips brushed against hers, she pressed down hard on his leg.

"Ouch!"

It was a direct hit to his bruised knee, unexpected and merciless.

The pain made Remington gasp, and Lizetta used the opportunity to step away, putting some distance between them. She looked over at him, his expression one of bewildered pain.

"I never agreed to anything, so don't get ahead of yourself."

Remington, nursing his sore leg, looked up at her with a smile that was utterly smitten.

"So, Ms. Madden, will you consider my request?"

Before Lizetta could respond, her phone rang. Ignoring Remington's wistful gaze, she answered the call without any hint of guilt.

Remington watched her move away, listening to the tone of her conversation.

It seemed like a trivial call, yet there was a time when his concerns would always come first. Now, he found himself anxiously awaiting her answer, while she casually took her time.

And yet, Remington realized he was utterly powerless to rush her.
