The Secret Pregnancy of the Billionaire’s ExWife

Chapter 216: I Need You to Come Back

Angels POV

I folded Aria’s favorite purple dress and tucked it into the suitcase, my movements methodical as I packed our belongings.

The spacious suite in the Shaw family’s European safe house had been our sanctuary for the past few days, but it was time to return to New Yorkwithout Sean.

Mommy, when will Mr. Night come back?Aria asked, her small fingers clutching her stuffed rabbit as she watched me from the edge of the bed.

I’m not sure, sweetheart,I replied, carefully keeping my voice neutral. He has some important matters to handle here first.

Her lower lip protruded slightly. But will he come say goodbye before we go to the airport?

I paused, my hands stilling on a halffolded shirt. Sean had left hour ago, after arranging our flight home and instructing Thomas to accompany us. He’d made it clear he wouldn’t be seeing the children again before our departure.

Mr. Night has many things to take care of,I explained gently. But once he finishes here, he’ll come find us in New York.

Promise?Aria’s eyes widened, searching my face for reassurance.

I’m sure he will,

Ethan, who had been quietly arranging his books in a small backpack, looked up. Mom, do you know what Mr. Night is doing?

He’s helping some people who need assistance.

The image of Davidwho had risked everything to help us escapeflashed through my mind. I hoped Sean would find him.

An hour later, a soft knock interrupted my final preparations.

Mrs. Wilson,Thomas Smith’s voice came through the door. We should leave for the airport now.

We’ll be right there.

I surveyed the room one final time, ensuring we hadn’t forgotten anything. Come along, children. It’s time to go.

In the hallway, Thomas efficiently took charge of our luggage, his movements reminding me painfully of David.

For five years, David had been there, carrying my packages, opening doors, always a step behind Christopher yet somehow looking out for me in his own quiet way.

Thomas must have noticed my expression. Mrs. Wilson, are you alright?

I nodded quickly, pushing the thought aside. Yes, I’m fine. Let’s go.

**

Thomas led the children downstairs while I followed behind, my mind still preoccupied with everything that had transpired since our escape from Christopher’s island.

While walking through the hallway, a hand suddenly pulled me into darkened room.

I nearly screamed until a palm covered my mouth. My initial panlebsided as I recognized the familiar scent and touchIt was

Sean.

The hand moved away from my mouth, only to be replaced by urgent lips. I didn’t need to see his face to know- Sean. His kiss was desperate, hungry, as if he were drowning and I was his air.

I thought you weren’t coming to say goodbye,I whispered, breathless from his unexpected assault.

Because I can’t bear to let you go,he murmured, his hand cupping my cheek. Every time I look at you, I want to keep you by my

side. Like now.

His fingers traced the outline of my face with such tenderness it made my heart ache. The contrast between his gentle touch and the fierce urgency of his kiss left me dizzy with conflicting emotions!

SeanI began, uncertain what I even wanted to say.

When we get back to New York,he said, his voice low and intense, My parents want to meet themour children. They’ve already lost so much time. Would you allow them to be part of the children’s lives?

I blinked, caught off guard by this sudden shift. You’re always rushing to make decisions for me. I haven’t even had a chance to answer you

Because I fear your rejection,he admitted, vulnerability threading through his words. Your silence makes me nervous. Does this mean you’re willing to let them meet?

I considered for a moment. After everything we’d been through, this seemed like a reasonable step forward. Yes, I think I’m willing to try. We can start there.

Really?His voice wavered with hope.

Give me their contact information. Once we’re back in New York, I’ll arrange a meeting.

F’ll have Thomas give you all the information,he promised, his fingers gently combing through my hair.

From the hallway, Aria’s voice drifted toward us. Where did Mommy go? This is my suitcase, but Mommy is gone!

I need to go,I said, trying to pull away. They’re looking for me

Sean captured my lips again, silencing my protest. One more kiss. Let me remember this feeling until I return to you.
