She’s Married, Sir (Scarlett and Sebastian) novel Chapter 188

Chapter 188

As night fell, the iron gate opened and a staff member holding an urn came out,

“The deceased Scarlett has been cremated. Who is her family member? Please come and get the ash.”

Dev’s bodyguard immediately went forward and took back the ash and ID card.

After receiving it, the bodyguard held it in his hand and bent over to hand it to the unconscious Dev.

“Mr. Gatsby, it’s time to take Miss Sales home. Otherwise, if she doesn’t recognize the way home, she will be…”

Be lost and lonely.

The bodyguard did not dare to say this, but it was enough to provoke Dev.

His pair of blood-red eyes slowly moved to the urn.

When he contemplated the person who had been alive moments ago, now reduced to a pile of ashes, his hopes crumbled to

dust

Just like the night of his car accident, heavy raindrops the size of beans ruthlessly pelted the sky.

Ignoring the wetness of his hair and cheeks, he stripped off his clothes and used them to cover the urn.

After forcing himself to calm down, he raised his trembling hand to take the urn, but he failed to catch it several times….

“Let me get it.”

Yan reached out to take the urn but was stopped by Dev.

He tried his best to steady his trembling hand and tried to catch the box.

After taking it over, he held the box tightly in his arms and did not let anyone touch it.

“Scarlett, I’ll take you home.”

Lightning flashed, the wind howled, and Dev’s face shone pale in the eerie light.

He tightly hugged the urn and, with Yan’s help, stepped out of the crematorium slowly.

He had promised to marry her when she grew up.

Before he could realize it, she had died so soon….

However, regardless of whether she died or not, he had to fulfill his promise.

As the car pulled up to the Register Office, Yan couldn’t help but think that Dev had gone completely off the rails. However, Dey did not care at all. He held the urn and walked into the building firmly.

The place wouldn’t open so late at night, so Dev sat on the steps waiting for dawn with the urn in his arms.

He didn’t use his power to call the people over in the middle of the night because he knew Scarlett wouldn’t like it.

“Dev…”

Yan looked at the stubborn Dev and hesitated for a few times, but in the end, he didn’t say anything.

Spotting the rain intensifying, Yan quickly grabbed an umbrella and held it above Dev’s head to protect him from the wind

and rain.

Yan also suspected that Dev had recovered his memories when he had asked Phylo about what had happened in the past. Only then did he become aware of Dev and Miss Sales’ past; they had been a couple deeply in love, but due to Mores, they had been separated.

Dev lost his memory due to Miss Sales, and the magnitude of his love was something that could not be easily gauged by

others.

Yan suddenly remembered when Lanny was lying on the ground covered in blood and stretched out her hand to ask for help. His heart couldn’t help but tighten.

Had Lanny not managed to survive, would he have been like Dev, cradling an urn like a dead person?

He shook his head, and the cold look in his eyes returned. He lowered his head to look at Dev, who was like a walking corpse.
