She’s Married, Sir (Scarlett and Sebastian) novel Chapter 64

Chapter 64

Scarlett noticed Dev’s expression change as he looked at her, and she knew exactly what he was thinking

She asked icily. “Does Mr. Gatsby still wish to dine out with the woman who comes out to sell?”

Dev, with his personality, would without hesitation refuse if that was the case.

Unexpectedly. Dey declared resolutely. “Absolutely.”

After uttering that, he strode directly to the hotel’s restaurant.

Scarlett gazed at his back, stunned.

After pausing momentarily, she still chose to follow.

Upon spotting Dev, the restaurant manager hastened over to personally welcome him.

“Mr. Gatsby, this way please”

The manager ushered them to a tranquil and cozy spot, and the waiter pulled out the dining chair and presented them the menu with respect.

Dev grabbed the menu and inquired of Scarlett, “What would you like to have?”

Scarlett nonchalantly declared, Tm not feeling peckish. Mr. Gatsby, why don’t you take care of the dishes?”

The congested stomach and intestines of a heart failure patient led to a decline in appetite, making it impossible to eat anything.

Seeing her cold face, Dev said nothing more. He quickly ordered a few light dishes and handed the menu back to the

manager.

Dev picked up the cup next to him, poured a cup of water for Scarlett, and then the manager left

His movements were fluid and graceful, exhibiting the highest level of refinement.

From childhood to adulthood, he remained unchanged, distinct from the other children in the orphanage.

He was a model of silence, quiet, and politeness, and was also one of the most brilliant learners.

She felt that he was the most wonderful gift God had bestowed upon her, and she was overjoyed. Scarlett touched her chest, where a faint pain lingered.

Upon seeing her eyes transition from bright to dark, Dev’s face creased into a slight frown.

“What is Miss Sales pondering?”

Tm pondering a phrase I saw on the internet.”

Upon hearing this. Dev inquired with curiosity, “What do you mean?”

Scarlett quipped, “Take out the one you fancy first.”

Dey didn’t catch the underlying message in her words, yet he sensed that Scarlett was subtly hinting at him. “Could it be that Miss Sales was hinting at me?”

Scarlett, not uttering a word, picked up the cup and took a sip of water.

Feeling her silence. Dev sensed that she was convrying more to him than words could express.

He suspected that what he was investigating was indeed wrong, yet he could not recall her.

When he saw her weakened state last night, he was deeply concerned and felt uneasy.

Was what she said before really true? The reality of this feeling was undeniable.

“Miss Sales, did you say you were my girlfriend? Is that correct?”

“No, I was not being truthful with you.”

Scarlett denied it without hesitation.

“Why are you deceiving me?” Dev was slightly disheartened.

Scarlett uttered emotionlessly, “I desire to cling to you and wed into a well-off family.”

She felt that Dey was testing her to see if she still recalled the warning.

She was afraid that if she continued to answer or explain as she had before, he would kick her again.

In order to keep him from suspecting her relationship with Sebastian, she defined herself as a ‘woman who sells herself.:

it were just so.
