She’s Married, Sir (Scarlett and Sebastian) novel Chapter 73

Chapter 73

When Mia heard the two words “sulfuric acid”, she was so frightened that her whole body shook. Even the words she wanted to respond with were lodged in her throat.

Scarlett averted her eyes and glanced at Linn, who was shrinking bark, not uttering a word. “Is that thing useful? You’ve been around so many elderly people Don’t you know? Why are you still badmouthing me?”

Linn was taken aback that Scarlett would divulge her privacy in public. She instantly became incensed. “What do you mean?” she yelled.

“Mia has already informed everyone about your capability. You don’t require me to explain its significance, do you?” Scarlett gazed at her sternly.

Linn spun her head around to face Mia, her expression one of shock. “I thought of you as a friend! How could you do this to

Mia was taken aback when Scarlett, who usually kept her struggles to herself, unexpectedly divulged information about Linn in front of a crowd.

She was so angry that she wanted to go forward and slap Scarlett, but Scarlett preemptively grabbed her wrist.

She looked at Mia and said icily. “If you lay a hand on me, I’ll make you pay for every penny!”

Mia was so enraged that her face was contorted, “It’s just a slap, how could you make me lose all my money?” “Didn’t you say I have a lot of potential customers? Any of them could squeeze you to oblivion.”

After Scarlett finished speaking, she paid no heed to her appearance and pushed away her worries, turning away.

Mia glared at Scarlett’s back and gritted her teeth in rage. “You won’t get away with this, Scarlett!”

Scarlett, feigning deafness, went straight to the bathroom.

Today, all the humiliation she had endured in the past was released.

She couldn’t identify her emotions, yet she sensed she should have done this a while back.

As she was about to wash her face, Zoey walked in and she turned on the tap.

On her way to buy milk tea for the president, she ran into Mia scolding Scarlett, so she quickly made her way to the bathroom.

“Scarlett, are you okay?”

Seeing Scarlett’s face not looking good, she guessed that Mia must have said something bad and that the two of them had had a dispute. Knowing that Scarlett had a weak personality, she feared that Mia might have bullied her.

Upon seeing Zory’s round and adorable face, Scarlett felt an instant sense of comfort. Her troubled heart gradually eased.

“Im fine.”

“Really?”

Zoey had a face of disbelief; she understood Scarlett best, yet said nothing when wronged and silently endured it.

“Im doing great. Don’t fret over me. Get back to work. If Mia can’t locate you later, you only have yourself to blame for being idle.”

Before Zoey had a falling out with Mia, they could still get along harmoniously on the surface; however, now that things had become strained, if Mia saw that Zoey was still so close to her, she would likely take some kind of retaliatory action against her. As an intern, Zory was under Mia’s command, so she had to be careful.

Zoey had taken great efforts entering YII. She wanted to become an official employee with the help of Mia, so she definitely couldn’t afford to implicate her.

Zory seemed to have picked up on this too. She was a bit hesitant, but eventually she nodded. “Okay, I’ll go to work first

then”

Scarlett smiled and waved her hand. “Go.”

Zoey then finally turned and departed the bathroom.

Scarlett’s smile gradually faded as soon as she departed.

Scarlee meant that, during this period when Dey was with A Town, she would be providing entertainment for him on behalf of the Napier Group.
