Chapter 148
Milllé quietly cursed Marvin over and over. She changed into a new outfit and rushed out to meet with Winston in her flashy purple Pagani. She dared not be late.
Meanwhile, Winston gracefully enjoyed his breakfast His mannerisms were impeccable.
She rolled her eyes at his pretentiousness. Ell, standing by Winston’s side, nodded at her. “Madam Millie, please take a seat.”
She pursed her lips and proceeded to take her seat, but Winston suddenly asked, “Who says you could sit?“.
Millie and Eli exchanged looks. Eli said apologetically, “Mr.Greer, I’ll wait for you outside.”
Eli wanted to get out for fear of stumbling even more
Millie watched as Eli left. She then turned to Winston and took her seat, defying his orders. She might have shown up as he requested, but that didn’t mean she was scared of him!
Frowning, he glared at her and snapped, “Did I ask you to take a seat?”
“Why did you make me come here, then? Watch you eat your breakfast?” she retorted indignantly.
For a second, he found himself agreeing with her, but soon, he collected his thoughts. “Millie Caldwell, let’s be clear, I asked to meet because we need to settle the score. I didn’t invite you for breakfast.
She muttered, “Well, since I’m already here, why not? Then, she reached out for the pancakes, but he slapped the back of her hand.
She sighed. “Fine. I won’t eat. Happy now?”
Millie massaged the back of her hand with a scowl. She thought, “What a petty man!”
Winston chuckled. What was with that attitude? She seemed disgruntled somehow.
“How can you sulk at me after you paid others to hack my company and my phone?” he confronted her.
She lowered her head. Keeping her silence, she rubbed the back of her hand nervously.
“You spent five million dollars to hack into my company.” Pursing his lips, he questioned, “Millie Caldwell, do you think you can splurge?”
Glancing at him, she replied wittily, “You said I’ll get half of the Greer Group. It is indeed a windfall.”
She amassed a lot of wealth without putting in any effort–the definition of a windfall indeed.
Winston found himself at a loss for words. Gripping the knife tightly, he soon slammed it on the table. The food wobbled from the movement, and she salivated at the sight of the breakfast.
She was famished:
Winston realized that all Millie could think about was food. She wasn’t paying attention to him at all. He wondered if she was being serious.
