that.
However, when the man found out he immediately latched onto Lainey. He went as far as to extort her into buying cars and a house for the even wanted her to support them for the rest of their lives.
The man even justified his actions by claiming that Lainey was wealthy, insisting that she should uphold her good intentions to the end.
Since then, Lainey had grown wary of such manipulative individuals
“I understand, Dr. Quinn, Millie replied eamesth
“That’s all for now. It’s time for your lunch break
After saying that, Lainey removed her glasses and massaged her temples. She appeared
sibly exhausted.
Millie approached her and offered, “Dr. Quinn, let me give you a massage.”
Initially, Lainey wanted to refuse. But Millie’s massage was unexpectedly pleasant, and it made her unwilling to say no.
What had earned her the privilege of a massage from the daughter of the Caldwell family
“Have you received training in massage?” Lainey asked Millie.
Millie shook her head in response.
“Everyone says that the Caldwells are a medical family, yet you don’t seem to know a thing. Well, it looks like that’s not quite true after all,” Lainey said with an awkward smile
Millie didn’t argue. Then, Lainey patted her arm and led her to the cafeteria for lunch.
“Hey, Dr. Quinn, you have a mentee now, huh?‘ quipped an experienced doctor from another department. “She looks familiar. She’s Ms. Caldwell, isn’t she?”
Millie looked at the person before her. They were from the anesthesiology department.
Another doctor from cardiology asked with a smile, “Who did she use to get in here? I can’t
believe she’s your mentee.”
*Is Ms. Caldwell here because of Dr. Lloyd?” someone else teased.
The cardiologist answered firmly. “No, absolutely not!”
The anesthesiologist nodded vigorously in agreement. “She’s definitely not someone Dr. Lloyd brought in. He hates people who leverage their connections and looks down on those
who are all show and no substance. Take Joanna, for example. Have you ever seen Dr. Lloyd
interact with her?”
As he spoke, the anesthesiologist sized Millie up. Then, he clicked his tongue. It was as if he was implying she was no different from Joanna,
Millie’s expression darkened. They actually compared her to Joanna. Wasn’t that downright insulting?
Before she could retort, a familiar voice rang out in the cafeteria.
“Hey, everyone’s here!”
All of them turned to look and were momentarily stunned. The person was none other than Sebastian, the hospital director.
“Dr. Lloyd!” The anesthesiologist and cardiologist rushed over to greet Sebastian.
But to their surprise, he ignored everyone else and made a beeline for Millie.
The other anesthesiologist looked in Sebastian’s direction and thought he was coming toward him. So, he extended his hand.
