Chapter 242
Meanwhile, at Greer Tower, Winston slammed his phone on the table and questioned Eli, “Who let this news slip?”
“Mr. Greer, I’ll investigate it right away!” Ell spun around instantly.
“Come back here!” Winston stopped him,
Eli immediately halted in his tracks and looked at his boss. Perhaps the news had caught him off guard. At that moment, worry etched across Winston’s face, his handsome features now marked by anxiety.
Winston pointed at Eli. His lips parted as if to speak but hesitated.
Eli used to be able to read Winston like a book. But now, he found himself utterly puzzled.
Suddenly, the phone on the table rang. It was Selma calling.
Winston’s face turned pale. He frowned and weakly instructed Eli, “Go, find out who’s behind this.”
Eli nodded. Then, Winston picked up his phone and steeled himself before answering the call.
“Winston Greer, get home immediately!” Selma ordered sharply.
At that command, he dared not delay for a moment. Winston grabbed his suit. jacket and walked out.
As soon as he opened Twitter, he found it buzzing with news about his divorce with Millie.
But their marriage crisis itself wasn’t the issue. The main point was that everyone had uncovered all his interactions with Joanna over the past three.
years.
Every affectionate photo Joanna had posted was traced back to him. The narrative shifted from Joanna giving the fake Snowdrop to accusations of her being a third party. She instantly went viral and trended on Twitter.
Winston opened the car door and tossed his phone onto the passenger seat.
Everyone was criticizing Joanna. From the Snowdrop incident to the current

situation, it all felt like a calculated scheme.
For some reason, Millie’s face suddenly popped into Winston’s mind. Was it her? Millie was probably the only one who would target Joanna and subject her to public condemnation like this.
Millie had been holding back a major move, hadn’t she? From the moment she decided to divorce Winston, it seemed like things hadn’t been that simple.
Winston gripped the steering wheel, his mind spiraling into turmoil.
Winston rushed back to the Greer residence without stopping.
The tension in the villa was palpable. As soon as he stepped into the living. room, he spotted Selma sitting on the couch.
Gloria sat beside her, gently patting Selma’s chest. Even Brian, who rarely intervened in Winston’s affairs, had returned.
This matter had blown up quite a lot.
All three of them stared at Winston intently. He held his breath and was unsure
of what to say.
“Get down on your knees!” Selma bellowed.
Winston frowned. “Grandma.”
“I said, get down on your knees!” Selma glared at him. Her heart was beating fast, and her tone was harsh.
Gloria quickly supported Selma, saying, “Mom, don’t get too worked up! Have you forgotten what the doctor said?”
On the other hand, Winston could only gaze at Brian. However, his father turned his head away, as if signaling to Winston that he could offer no assistance.
After a moment of silence, Winston noticed Selma glaring at him. Hence, he had no choice but to kneel. “Grandma,” he called out.
Selma immediately turned on the television, and a news anchor’s voice
reached their ears.
