“Millie, you don’t have to force yourself,” Simon whispered gruffly.
She smiled. “I’m not.”

However, she was surprised at the coincidence. How did she run into her ex–best friend proposing to her ex–husband at the same restaurant?
The vlog came to an end. Joanna laughed and cried at the scenes. In contrast, Winston frowned without much expression.
When he turned, Joanna was waiting for him with a bouquet in her arm and a ring box. Was this the reason Joanna insisted on leaving the hospital and bringing him to the restaurant?
Behind Joanna stood a few of her friends. Winston had met them before, and they left quite the impression because their faces were oddly similar due to plastic surgery.
He tore his gaze from Joanna’s friends, only to see Joanna teary–eyed. “Win.”
As she was still in poor health, she could barely speak above a whisper. Her feeble voice would break anyone’s heart.
She began, “I never regretted my sacrifices for you. I wanted the whole world to know that I love you very much.”
Tears started flowing down her cheeks when she declared her love. Her friends cried along while telling her, “Jo, don’t cry!”
Winston had always conducted himself in a disciplined and dignified manner. Therefore, he was at a loss when put under the spotlight.
Joanna wiped away her tears. One of her friends put a veil on her head. She looked up and raised the wedding bands in her hand. Then, she boldly proposed to Winston, “Win, marry me! I would like to marry you and be your wife!”
She raised her voice so that everyone around them heard her loud and clear. They were in awe of her courage. Joanna’s friends roused the crowd, and they applauded after she proposed.
In Millie’s eyes, the proposal was just a farce. Joanna must have known that Winston hated unnecessary attention. What she just did was force him into marriage.
Perhaps the idea had been on Joanna’s mind since the night of the entertainment industry dinner party.
Winston stared at her with a frown and a conflicted expression. “Joanna-”
“Win, marry me.” She cut him off, refusing to accept anything apart from a “yes” from him. She wanted him to marry her and make her his wife.
The wait staff gathered in a corner and covered their smiles as they witnessed the “romantic” scene. The restaurant was packed that night. The patrons took out their phones to record the moment.
Winston grumbled, “Joanna, why didn’t you let me know before this?”
She smiled. “I wanted it to be a surprise. Win, I know you hate the attention. Just this once, okay?”
Standing before Winston, Joanna adopted a humble demeanor, as she needed him to agree to her

proposal that night–before the Greers learned that she was blacklisted from the medical profession.
Winston nervously stared at the wedding bands in Joanna’s hand with mixed feelings. He looked at Joanna, feeling no joy, only a heaviness that weighed him down.
Joanna always indirectly reminded him of Millie. Millie once stood in front of him with a smile, saying, ” Winston Greer, marry me. I’ll marry no one else but you
