Chapter 33
Upon seeing him again, she would greet him with a smile and call him affectionately.
“Win,” she would say.
When he thought about it, his heart stuttered, as though a million ants were marching across it. It made him restless.
Jake rubbed his chin and joked, “I wonder whether Ms. Caldwell and Simon will invite me to their engagement party.”
“I didn’t even get to go to your wedding when you guys were married! Millie is so pitiful. Not only did you not acknowledge her as your wife, you didn’t even hold a banquet in celebration.”
. Winston felt a mess of emotions. Jake was nagging at him, making him extremely annoyed. Thus, he
took his coat and walked out.
Jake only reacted after a moment. “Win, where are you going?” he shouted.
Winston didn’t reply to his question.
When Winston left the bar, Eli was dealing with the news of Millie online.
Eli looked back and asked Winston, “Mr. Greer, how should I handle the news of Ms. Caldwell and Mr.
Harrison?”
Winston pulled at his tie. When he heard Eli’s question, he looked up.
The lights in the car weren’t bright enough. The smell of alcohol radiated off him, and his eyelashes cast shadows on his cheeks.
“What are you talking about?” Winston asked Eli.
Eli didn’t notice his turmoil. He repeated, “Ms. Caldwell and-”
“Ms. Caldwell?” Winston cut him off. Iciness wafted off him.
Ell didn’t know what he had done wrong.
Winston chuckled and said, “Eli, Millie and I haven’t gotten a divorce. You’ve changed the way you address her already?”
He used to call her Mrs. Greer all the time. Now, he called her Ms. Caldwell?
Noticing Winston’s displeasure, Eli explained, “Mr Greer, Ms. Lowell was the one who asked me to call her that.”
At the mention of Joanna, Winston’s heart sank.
The car fell silent.
Eli looked at his boss carefully. He didn’t dare to say a word and even tried to breathe slowly.
Winston leaned back in his seat. His Adam’s apple bobbed, and the silence continued.

After a while, Eli asked, “Mr. Greer, where… are we going?”
Winston looked at Eli and suddenly asked, “Were you the one who sent news to Grandma, which made her go to the villa Unexpectedly?”
Eli froze. He opened his mouth to say something.
Winston raised an eyebrow and hummed inquisitively.
Eli’s silence was his answer.
Winston’s breath paused in his throat. He tightened his fists and shouted, “Eli!”
He had wrongfully blamed Millie for telling Selma on him.
“Mr. Greer, she’s your grandmother! She asked me about your plans, and I…”
Winston felt his stomach turn. He felt horrible.
