Chapter 339
#15 BONUS
Millie’s vigorous movements continued to cause the bell on the rope to ring. The man below appeared to have noticed, as he repeatedly shone his dim flashlight upwards.
She lowered her head and peered down. The car’s light faintly illuminated the man’s body. A flicker of surprise flashed in her eyes, and she hesitated. That man…
“Boss, I saw it! It’s Winston!” the lackey behind them said suddenly.
Millie immediately looked back, her eyes brimming with disbelief. Did Winston truly come?
“Wow! What a surprise!” Michael suddenly laughed.
He clapped his hands and exclaimed, “Ms. Caldwell, look, the person you least want to see is here. How wonderful, truly wonderful!”
Then, he turned toward the lackey and instructed, “Go and inform him that his partner is here.”
The lackey nodded and quickly ran downstairs.
Millie peered down, the chair legs dangling over the edge, and it seemed that Winston had also caught sight of her. He shouted, “Millie!”
Her heart skipped a beat. It was indeed Winston.
Michael followed her gaze and grabbed her hair. “See, the first person to find you was Winston. Did you guess it correctly?” he asked.
Millie glared at him, pondering his intentions. Was the so–called 10:00 am game just a means to torture her? Was the goal always to kill her?
However, she never expected that the first person to appear was Winston. How could this be happening? Why would he show up at this time?
Her mind went blank, and it took her a while to regain her composure after seeing Winston standing
before her.
“You’re finally here,” Michael said faintly.
Winston wore a white shirt, but it was disheveled. His tie was crooked, and two buttons on his collar were undone. He was slightly breathless from running up 30 floors anxiously.
He stepped forward, and a lackey approached with a baseball bat to hit him. He kicked the lackey away. causing him to fall and kneel on the floor. Then, Winston pressed his knees on his back.
Millie gazed at Winston with a complex expression. She thought, “What is he doing here? Leave!” Winston looked at her with an intense gaze. He tried to stay calm. Then he looked at Michael, who was standing next to Millie, and asked calmly, “What do you want in exchange for letting her go?”
“You’re brilliant, Mr. Greer.” Michael applauded and smiled at Winston.
Cut the crap!” Winston glanced at Millie. She sat on a chair, swaying in the wind, relying solely on a rope. It was so dangerous. These people were truly insane.
“Mr. Greer, do you really want to save her?” he asked.
Winston looked up, waiting for him to continue.
“How about trading yourself for her?”
Millie frowned and shook her body in displeasure before making a disapproving sound. Michael quickly removed the tape from her mouth.
