Millie cast a confused look at Joanna. She could feel Joanna’s tightening grip on her wrist. inna appeared to be very resentful of her. 

“You’ve gotten what belonged to you. What are you upset about?” Millie felt speechless. 

Joanna bit her lip. “But I can’t get over the fact you took Winston away from me for three years.” 

Millie chuckled. “Joanna, shut up and count your blessings. I was the first to approach Winston in high school. He always hung out with me in my freshman year of college. He and I were engaged before you entered the equation.” 

By the way, Millie was puzzled by Winston’s behavior too. He had never displayed any aversion toward her until they started discussing marriage. From then on, he appeared to hate the idea of marrying her.
