Silly Bride novel (Winnie and Xavier) novel Chapter 194

Sebastian immediately swallowed his words when he heard Xavier’s voice.

“Now that he’s awake, you two should have a good talk.” Sebastian rose to his feet and picked up the small box on the coffee table. “I’ll take away Yolanda’s hypnotic incense first.”

Winnie had no objections because it originally belonged to Yolanda.

Nonetheless, there were some things that needed to be said right away, so she called out to Sebastian.

“Master, please wait a moment. I have something to tell you.”

Sebastian sighed and turned around, saying coldly, “Nini, you should change the way you address me.”

Winnie paused for a moment before deciding to change the way she addressed him. “Understood, Old Mr. Xander.”

The way she changed from addressing him as Master to Old Mr. Xander indicated a change in their level of closeness.

“Good. You may now tell me what you wanted to tell me,” Sebastian replied, sighing once more.

Winnie frowned and said earnestly, “I hereby promise you that I will no longer use deception to stalk Ms. Xander. But if she continues to do something against Xavier or me in the future, I will not sit back and do nothing.”

Sebastian nodded. “I understand. If that day does come, she’s only bringing trouble to herself. Well, I suppose that’s all for today. It looks like your husband is about to wake up, so I’ll be on my way now.”

Soon after, Winnie and Xavier were the only two people left in the living room.

Without waking up, Xavier continued to call Winnie’s name.

She quickly unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt, calling out his name several times as she did so.

When she called his name for the third time, Xavier opened his eyes.

“Winnie!”

“I’m here!” Winnie immediately took Xavier’s hand in her own.

Xavier gave Winnie a long look before frowning.

“What’s the matter? Are you feeling unwell?” Winnie inquired, concerned that he was in poor health.

Before pushing her hand away, Xavier gave her a faint smile. “Dr. Garland, are you taking advantage of me? I recall telling you that I’m a married man.”

Winnie was rendered speechless when she heard that. She rolled her eyes and resisted the urge to smack him on the head.

Xavier, amused, turned to Winnie and said, “What? Did I say something wrong? Was I correct? That’s why you’re irritated.”

Xavier felt vindicated after recalling how she used to tease him while she was playing dumb in the past.

In fact, he had struggled in the past because of her.

However, it was the inverse at that time. He could finally revel in the pleasure of teasing her.

Winnie wished she could crack his head open and reorganize his nerves all over again at that moment.

Despite having that thought, she was a strong-willed individual. She could hold back for as long as she wanted.

Nonetheless, it was true that she did not wish to speak with him at that moment. After all, she was at someone else’s house, not her own.

Winnie eventually ignored Xavier and took out her phone, starting to send messages.

When Xavier realized she would rather play with her phone than talk to him, he simply stood up.

Because he was tall, the moment he stood behind Winnie and looked down at the screen of her phone, he could see her entire phone interface and discovered that she was texting Josiah.

She was inquiring of Josiah about Yolanda.

Shortly afterward, Josiah replied: I managed to find her, but she told me to get lost. Of course I want to, but I can’t just do it and offend Old Mr. Xander, right?

Winnie quickly responded: Ask her to return, then.

Josiah wrote: Huh? Do you really expect her to listen to me? Surely you think too highly of me, Ms. Garland.

Winnie replied: Find another way, then.

Josiah messaged: Why don’t you do the thinking if you’re so smart?

Winnie paused for a moment before responding quickly: How about you provoke her by telling her I might go search her room for something and ask her if it doesn’t matter? I’m sure she’ll come right back after hearing that.

Surprisingly, Josiah no longer responded immediately.

Two minutes later, Josiah sent Winnie a voice message, saying, “It’s done! She’s already on her way back! By the way, how is Xavier doing right now? Is he awake yet? I believe it is time for us to depart. Yolanda is obviously a cunning woman. I’m certain she won’t tell the truth if we stay there. Perhaps she’ll tell Old Mr. Xander everything after we’ve left.”

After Winnie listened to the voice message, she messaged: You’re right. You should hurry up and return as well. We’ll talk about what happened after we leave the Xander residence.

Josiah replied: Right away!

Winnie put her phone away after their conversation was over. When Xavier noticed that, he also withdrew his gaze at that precise moment.

In fact, Josiah was right. It was about time for them to go.

After all, there was a lot of conversation that was inappropriate in the Xander residence.

Winnie and Josiah arrived at the Xander residence in their respective cars.

It would be natural for Xavier to leave in Josiah’s car, given that he had arrived in Josiah’s car.

On the road, Josiah was driving ahead, with Winnie close behind.

“Did you experience anything unusual while at the Xander residence earlier?” Josiah inquired of Xavier inside the car.

Xavier furrowed his brows and looked at Josiah. “What is it? Tell me.”

“It’s about Winnie’s relationship with Old Mr. Xander. They seem to have grown distant all of a sudden.” Josiah frowned slightly.

After all, she had always addressed Sebastian as Master. However, she no longer addressed him as Master. Instead, she referred to him as Old Mr. Xander. Sebastian also appeared to be less welcoming to Winnie than he was a few days ago.

Xavier hummed. “You’re right. It’s exactly as you stated.”

When Josiah heard that, he could not help but glance back at Xavier in the rearview mirror before saying, “From your response, it appears that you’re quite certain. Is it possible that I missed something when I went out to find Yolanda?”

“You can put it that way.”

“What did I miss, then? Stop keeping me guessing and hurry up and tell me.”

As he looked in the rearview mirror at Winnie’s car, Xavier frowned slightly again.

“They have already severed their master-apprentice relationship.”

Josiah, thinking he had misheard him, asked, “What did you say? Are you kidding me?”

“Do I seem to be joking with you?”

Josiah found it unbelievable because Winnie had previously demonstrated exceptional talent in front of Sebastian.

Yolanda, not Winnie, was the one who was clamoring for a match. Before the first match even began, Josiah was certain that even if Winnie lost all three matches, Sebastian would still accept her as his apprentice.

That was undeniably his impression of Sebastian at that time.

How could the two sever their master-apprentice relationship so quickly?

With that in mind, Josiah stated, “I don’t believe it. Is it possible that you misheard anything?”

She was initially annoyed by what she had in mind, but after she looked at his handsome face, her mood seemed to have improved all of a sudden.

She smiled gently as she looked at him. “You’ll have to take the medicine again tonight. I’ll send it to you once I’ve decocted it.”

When Xavier saw her smile, his heart skipped a beat.

He could not smell anything but the faint, fragrant aroma of her body inside the small enclosed space.

Her distinct body scent seemed to have its own mind, attempting to penetrate all of his senses.

When he realized that, he felt an overwhelming desire to hug her.

Under the light scent of the enticing aura, Xavier subconsciously moved closer to Winnie.

Yet, the elevator doors opened at that moment because someone on the first floor had pressed the elevator button, interfering with Xavier’s movement.

He was fine with it, however, because his original plan was not to do it there.

After being injected with the toxin, he had finally regained all of his memories, with no gaps.

Evidently, he remembered everything that had happened after Yulissa injected him with the poison, as well as every moment he had spent with Winnie after that.

As a result, being able to recover all of his memories meant everything to him.

He had intended to decorate his home properly before inviting her to spend the night with him.

However, he was almost unable to restrain himself while inside the crowded elevator with her.

He could not help but be irritated when he thought about it.

The two of them returned to their respective homes after that.

In reality, Xavier had already told Louis to set up his home before he returned.

Louis had completed his setup by the time Xavier arrived home.

“Everything has been set up according to your specifications, Mr. Fairchild. Is there anything that needs to be improved?”

When he heard that, Xavier looked around and was pleased with the outcome. “Excellent work. You didn’t let me down.”

“I’m glad you’re pleased. Dinner will be served in about two hours. If you don’t have any further instructions, I’ll return to the office first.”

“All right, you can go ahead.” Having said that, Xavier went to the bathroom.

After about an hour and a half, Xavier took the initiative to call Winnie.

“Dr. Garland, I heard that taking traditional medicine on an empty stomach is bad for the intestines, so could you please come earlier? I’d also like to treat you to dinner as a way of saying thanks for looking after me. Do you accept my invitation?” Xavier asked nicely.

It had been several days since the two had eaten together, so Winnie agreed without hesitation.

Half an hour later, Xavier was alone in his house, lighting the candles on the dining table.

Just as he was about to take out his phone and call Winnie to hurry up, Josiah called him.

“Listen up, Xavier. The ingredients of the medicine you gave me have been tested in the laboratory. It’s a little complicated and difficult to explain over the phone. You should come over here right away!”

“Right now?” Xavier frowned as he looked at the beautifully decorated scene.

To make matters worse, it was almost time for their dinner when he raised his hand and looked at his watch.

“Yes, right now!” Josiah replied hastily.

As soon as Josiah finished speaking, the doorbell rang.
