“Yes,” Xavier replied with a frown. He relaxed when he lowered his head to look at Winnie. “But I’ve never been bored ever since you showed up.”
“Of course,” Winnie replied proudly. “It is rare to find someone as attractive as me. Well…” She flung her arms around Xavier’s neck to pull him closer until he had to bend down. “You should take more days off so we can travel around. When I was climbing Mount Albeise a few days ago, I wanted to bring you along to enjoy the view with me.”
“Really?” Xavier’s eyes lit up. “Were you thinking of me when you were climbing the mountain?”
“Yes!” Winnie giggled. “Don’t you know I went to Yartran because I missed you?”
“Mm.” Xavier gazed at Winnie, his gaze burning with passion.
Ignoring the fact that they were in the bustling airport, he captured her lips in a kiss.
Winnie responded to his kiss for a while before pushing him away gently. “We’re blocking the path.”
Xavier wasn’t satisfied yet. He stood rooted in his spot and joked, “I should buy this airport one day.”
“Sure!” Winnie played along with him. “Everyone will have to take the Fairchild family’s planes, then.”
“Okay.” Xavier got serious. “I need to work hard to accomplish the mission you just handed me, Mrs. Fairchild.”
From today onward, he wasn’t only working hard for the Fairchild family. He wanted to become stronger to get closer to his beloved woman.
…
Xavier initially planned to send Winnie to Aqua Moana himself, but Winnie didn’t want him to waste time on the road. In the end, she returned to the apartment herself.
Winnie had already started missing Jacinta’s food when she was eating the airplane food earlier. She assumed she would smell the delicious food upon entering the house, but what greeted her instead was utter silence.
There was no one in the kitchen, the living room, and the bathroom.
Baffled, Winnie called, “Granny!”
No one responded to her call, but she heard a sound inside Jacinta’s bedroom.
Putting her guard up, she grabbed a vase on the coffee table and headed to Jacinta’s room.
Winnie opened the door carefully to discover that the person who made the sound was none other than Jacinta herself.
Shocked by Winnie’s sudden appearance, Jacinta hastily stuffed the thing she was holding back into her cabinet.
“Winnie! Why didn’t you make a sound if you’re back? You gave me a scare!”
Winnie put the vase down and went to her. “I did call you, Granny. What are you doing? Why did you close the door when you were at home?”
She immediately spotted Jacinta’s clothes strewn all over the bed and the luggage opened on the floor.
Stunned, she blurted out, “Are you packing your clothes, Granny? Where are you going? Are you going somewhere far?”
“Oh.” Jacinta stopped in her tracks and explained, “Well…”
Before she could say anything, her phone rang.
