Sir, Madam Dispeared Again After Divorce! novel Chapter 852

Seeing the worried look on Julien's face and the determination in his eyes to support her, Sydney felt warm inside.

She sniffled and answered with some remorse, "I'm sorry. I lost our clothes."

"What?" Julien froze for a moment, "The clothes were lost?"

'How could Sydney have lost the clothes? Did someone bully her?

'She looks so upset just because she lost the clothes?'

'Maybe...'

The dress and suit were worth millions of dollars. While it was a slice of cake to Julien and he wouldn't be bothered by it, it was a significant amount to Sydney. It was possible for her to be upset about the dress and suit.

Julien was amused. He patted Sydney's shoulder. "It's okay. We'll buy new ones. I have money."

Julien always thought his money was hers, too. He'd secretly connected her payment account to his credit card.

She could spend as much money as she wanted.

But Julien didn't tell Sydney about it. He was worried she wouldn't use his money if she knew about it.

Sydney was amused to hear Julien say he had money. She had been feeling guilty since she lost the dress and suit.

But soon, she calmed down and looked up at him. "Actually, the clothes weren't lost. They were robbed."

"What?" Julien's face immediately turned pale. He held her tighter, and then he looked down and took a good look at her. "Are you all right?"

He didn't ask how the clothes had been robbed.

He only cared if she was hurt.

Seeing the worried look on Julien’s face, Sydney nodded her head, "Yes, I'm fine."

Julien was still worried. He lifted her hands and squeezed her arms and shoulders to see if she was lying.

If she was hurt, she would give her away when her arms were squeezed.

But Sydney wasn't lying. No matter how Julien examined her, she did not show any difference.

Then Julien was convinced that she was not hurt. And he was relieved. "It's good that you're not hurt. Tell me, how did clothes get robbed?"

He took Sydney's hand and walked over to the couch and they both sat down. Sydney then answered, "When I came out of the mall this afternoon and was getting into my car, a man suddenly passed me. He grabbed the bags right out of my hand. Then I chased after him..."

"What? You chased him?" Julien's face darkened. His grip on her hand tightened. He was angry. "Do you know how dangerous that is? How dare you go after a robber? Have you ever thought about the risks?"

He stared at her, and there was anger as well as worry in his eyes.

Seeing that Sydney realized how dangerous what she had done was, Julien eased his tone, "Don't be so impulsive in the future. You must think it over and be prepared before you act. If you are prepared for all the possibilities, you will not put yourself in danger." As he said this, he gave a gentle tap on her forehead.

Sydney knew he was teaching her how to handle things. She kept that in her mind and nodded, "I know. I'll think twice in the future before I do anything. But I lost the clothes for the party. Aren't you mad?" She looked up at him.

Julien laughed softly, "They're just clothes. Why should I be mad? Do you think I would be angry with you over two pieces of clothes?"

"No." Sydney shook her head, "But I feel guilty for losing them, so..."

Julien gently put a finger on her lips and interrupted her, "Don't feel guilty. Do I care about some clothes? I care more about you. I'm happy as long as you're safe. We can buy new ones. Did you forget what I just said? I have money."

Sydney moved his finger away, stared at him, and laughed once more. "You sound so showy."

"I can be showy if it makes you happy." Julien scratched her nose.

Sydney leaned her head on his shoulder. "I was worried you'd get mad. You gave me this task, but I failed. I feel bad."

"What kind of man do you think I am? How could I possibly blame you or be angry with you?" Julien kissed her on the brow. "Remember: I will never blame you no matter what you do. I'll always be on your side. Even if you kill someone, I'll help you get rid of the body and make myself your accomplice."

"Don't be ridiculous. Who's going to kill people?" Sydney was amused and she slapped the back of his hand. Her heart flipped.

She was touched by Julien's promise.

Julien cupped Sydney's face, "Killing someone is just a metaphor. You won't kill anyone after all, but I'm telling you I'm always on your side. Do you believe me?"
