Sir madame has run away again (Lily and Carson) novel Chapter 216

Chapter 216
In the end, my father said nothing.
It was clear that he still harbored a grudge against Carson, but I wasn’t here to ask my parents to forgive that bastard. So I immediately changed the subject and asked my father about his medical condition.
This was the first time in five years that I had spoken to my parents so intimately. Aunt Judy was tactful enough to leave, and Dylan left with her. Soon only my parents and I were in the ward.
My parents were always concerned about my life after marriage, especially my mother, who was always asking me questions. I tried my best to respond to her without divulging any of the awful truth.
Time passed so quickly while we were talking. Our nanny and housekeeper, Mrs. Fant arrived at the hospital to deliver food to my father. Mrs. Fant has been helping out at Hawkins House since I was born, so she was like a close relative to us. When Mrs. Fant saw me, she was very emotional. Putting down the thermos, she reached out to hug me and cry, “Lily, I missed you so much!”
“Mrs. Fant, I missed you too.”
“You do not miss me. If you missed me, why didn’t you come home for so long? You are very insensitive.” Mrs. Fant didn’t bother to be indirect with her words.
“Now now. Don’t criticize Lily anymore. In the future, she will have many opportunities to return home. When the time comes, she will definitely pester you to cook for her, which will annoy you to no end. ” My mother smiled at me.
“I will not be upset. As long as Lily is happy, I am willing to cook for her every day.”
My dad leaned back on the hospital bed and looked at his watch. “Lily, it’s late. You should
go
back!”
“Dad, I’m not coming back tonight. I will stay with you.”
“You’re being silly again. You are not in good health. I’ll be here, along with the nurses and Mrs. Fant. Your father doesn’t need you to accompany him.” My mother was worried about my health.
“Mom, I have nothing to do. I haven’t been with you for so long, so I want to be with you tonight.”
“There will be many opportunities for us to meet in the future. There is no need to stay overnight. You really should come back.” My father also spoke.
“I really don’t want to go back.” I looked at my mother, hoping she could support me and allow me to stay.
Instead, she told me, “Be good and go away. Carson even made you soup. Go back and drink. You must nourish your body well and not let us worry about you.”
As my parents insisted that I return, I didn’t stay either.
On the way home, I secretly decided in my heart not to tell Carson about my father’s hospitalization. Considering how astute and scheming Carson was, once he knew my dad was hospitalized, he’d definitely pay a visit as an act of kindness, but I refused to let this disgusting bastard anywhere near my parents.
As I thought about this in my heart, Carson called me again. “Honey, why haven’t you come home yet?”
“I am on my way.”
“I understand. I’ll have Victoria prepare the meal now so you can eat right away when you get back.” Carson then hung up, but before he did, I clearly heard Jolene’s voice in the background.
I couldn’t help but feel a little perplexed. Did Carson go to the hospital to visit Jolene again? That idiot really didn’t care what people think, huh?

Still, it didn’t sound good either. If Carson was in the hospital right now, he shouldn’t have said that he would ask Victoria to prepare food now. Was Jolene released from the hospital then?
But didn’t she have a miscarriage a few days ago? How could she be discharged so quickly? Her body couldn’t have recovered that fast, could it?
