Sir madame has run away again (Lily and Carson) novel Chapter 223

Chapter 223
That’s not really what I meant, honey. I swear.”
“I understand that you desperately want to meet my father. Since you’ve waited for five years, waiting a little longer won’t make any difference. Please come back when my father recovers and is willing to meet you.”
Upon hearing what I said, Carson stopped insisting. “Honey, I will wait for you outside.”
“Please return to the company first. It might take a long time for me.”
Upon entering the ward. I saw my father and mother talking while Mrs. Fant served soup in a bowl. Looking like me. Mrs. Fant asked with a smile, “Lily, did you bring soup too?”
“Yes, I cooked it myself.”
“Serious? Did you learn to make soup?” Mrs. Fant asked in disbelief, and my parents were also shocked.
“Of course it’s true. Mrs. Fant, please set your soup aside first. I want my dad to try my soup.”
“All good.” Mrs. Fant stopped serving the soup. After I prepared the soup. I handed it to my dad, whereupon he took a sip and frowned. Nervously, my mother asked, “Does it taste bad?”
“Instead of tasting bad, it tastes very delicious.” My father took the bowl and gulped down the soup without using a spoon. After that he said, “Is there more? Bring me another bowl!”
So I poured him another bowl of soup. Seeing this, Mrs. Fant was displeased. “Mr. Hawkins, you are biased. You normally only drink one bowl of my soup, but when it comes to your daughter’s soup, you demand two bowls. This is embarrassing for me.”
“Stop teasing him. Lily has grown into an adult, but this is the first time she has cooked soup for her father. I think instead of the soup being delicious, he’s just happy that his daughter put in so much effort.”
“Well, you are partially right. I want to drink two bowls of Lily’s soup not just because she made it. It’s really delicious.”
“Really?” My mother didn’t believe it.
“Try it if you don’t believe me.” Upon taking a sip of the soup, my mother was very surprised. “Lily, did you really make this soup?”
“And truth.”
“Tastes like someone with years of culinary experience. Torn between surprise and sympathy, my mother asked, “Do you make soup every day?”
“No, I cooked this soup myself, but under my housekeeper’s guidance. She is a master soup cook.”
“I understand. I thought your cooking skill improved significantly after a few years because you cook every day.”
After my father finished his soup, I kept him company for a while and then returned to the company. Upon returning to my office, I started drawing design sketches.
I was so immersed in my work that I didn’t realize anyone had walked in. Hearing a cough, I looked up to see President Smith standing across the table.
“President Smith, sorry for not seeing you. Please sit down!” I quickly got up from my chair and greeted her.
President Smith sat down on the couch. “Lilian, are you busy today?”
I discovered the meaning behind his words. Since I left the premises suddenly last night, he must have been upset, so I quickly explained with a smile, “President Smith, I am very sorry about what happened yesterday. My father had a brain attack

Bleeding yesterday, so I had to rush to the hospital. That’s why…”
Upon hearing my explanation, President Smith’s expression softened. “Oh, your father got sick. I knew you were that kind of person.”
Sensing the tone of his words, I asked, “President Smith, what did others say about me?”
