Chapter 330
I was surprised, but he just kissed me on the cheek. I looked at him in disbelief, my eyes wide.
“I told you my intentions, and you didn’t say no, so I assumed you had no objections,” Eric said matter-of-factly. Crazy, I raised my hand and turned it towards his face, but he deftly grabbed my hand. “If you dare hit me today, I will kill you in the elevator!” His voice was no longer laced with joy, but a touch of cold.
I threw daggers at him, but I didn’t dare make another move. For some reason, I feel like he’s actually going to do what he’s threatened.
When the elevator stopped, Eric was back to his usual chivalrous and charming self, even keeping a certain distance as we walked. Stifling my anger, I followed him to the parking lot, when Georgie’s eyes widened in surprise at the sight of us together.
Eric then walked to the side of the car and ordered Georgie, “Give Ms. Hawkins.” With a murmur of recognition, Georgie pulled a tube of salve from the car and handed it to me. Eric, on the other hand, opened the car door and got in the car. Without giving me another look, he instructed Georgie to drive with a brooding expression.
I stood there for a while before turning on my heel and returning to my father’s company. When I took the elevator back to my father’s office, he was sitting in his chair, looking contemplative. He snapped back to the present when he saw me enter. “Did you see him leave?”
“Yes.” I replied as I threw myself onto the couch.
“What do you think of Eric Walker?” my dad asked out of the blue.
“I’ve only interacted with him about work, so I don’t know him very well,” I replied as calmly as I could.
to manage.
“You should be careful with that person in the future.” At this, my father thought for a moment, “I think he has some ulterior motive for doing business with me this time.”
“He’s asking you to take care of the project for the five-star hotel and the roof garden. It seems he is trying to coerce me into collaborating with him for his own good.”
“Father, you don’t need to consider me. Just prioritize the company’s interests,” I said hastily.
“I know. I’m just warning you. It will be good for our company to collaborate with him, but I find it quite surprising that he regards him so highly.”
My father’s remark made my heart race. Did Eric Walker really ask me to handle the design to collaborate with my father’s company? He’s such a perceptive person, so this really seems like something he would do. For some inexplicable reason, disgust flooded through me. After all, no one would be happy to have been tricked.
Afterwards, I sat on the couch alone and scrolled my phone absently. Ding! A message came from Victoria – ‘Lily, that old man just told me that Jolene’s brother was arrested by the police’
I was momentarily stunned as I stared at the message. Why would Robin be arrested for no reason? Suddenly, the incident of Jolene blackmailing Carson came to mind. Could it be Carson doing? I responded with a brief question – ‘Do you know why?
