Chapter 443
“It was a coincidence! I met him when I went shopping! Plus, we’ve known each other since childhood, so our relationship is unlike anyone else’s.”
“And even? What’s the difference?” With a hint of mockery in his eyes, Eric looked at me nonchalantly.
“Don’t you dare look at me like that! There is nothing between us!” The look he wore pissed me off.
“He is sure? While that may be the case, from what I understand Dylan has been abstaining from relationships while he waits for you.”
“What kind of nonsense is this? He did this because he still hasn’t found the right person for him! We wouldn’t have waited until now if he has feelings for him.
my!”
“That may not be true. There are people who would never regret their actions until it’s too late.”
“It’s a nuisance talking to you when you’re being so indirect with your words. I am leaving now!”
“No you can not!” He looked at me. “I’m not done talking yet!”
“I don’t need to listen to you if you’re going to speak in riddles. I don’t like it, nor will I explain myself.”
“You are neither kind nor cute. Rather, you are as fierce as a tiger. I must be crazy that I fell in love with you,” Eric muttered under his breath.
“Who are you complaining about?”
“Just me. Sit down and talk to me. You are not allowed to go anywhere.” He returned to his former resolute self, as if the previous angry man was just a figment of my imagination.
“But…”
“Stop this! Are you worried about Camille? She’s nobody, so what right does she have to interfere in my personal life?”
He seemed to want to say that Camille had nothing to do with him, which made me feel better, so I sat down. “Do you want more to eat?”
“No.”
“Does your stomach still hurt?” I asked.
“I am feeling much better.”
The dry talk was starting to bore me, so I suggested, “Why don’t you go back to resting in your seat? We can chat using the messaging app.”
“OK.” Eric agreed to that, so we went back to our seats.
Camille was about to leave in search of Eric, but she smiled when she noticed our return. “Eric, why don’t I ask the flight attendant to bring you some
food?”
“No need, I already had dessert at the bar, which was very tasty.” Eric seemed to be in a good mood.
