Sold to Mr. Arrogant novel Chapter 53

My friends were drunk and passed out on the counter; I was in the toilet making an important phone call. I called Tony, someone whom I can't really describe our relationship as friends since it was a little bit different. Tony was the one who passed me the dagger; he also helped me to deal with some problems in the underground ring club.

He does not do anything for free though, it's not weird since it is his job.

" Lily, It's been a long time; I heard you were sold out by your father, is it true?"

" It's a long story, I would like you to tell me whether the whole thing was plotted or if it happened just due to mere luck, the one he was indebted to is Gerald Finland, you must know who he is," I stated.

" Of course I do, I don't mess with big shark though. I will be fucked up if caught and with someone like him, I would," he replied.

" I will guarantee that you won't get killed, he is an acquaintance of mine so if you told him my name, he won't harm you. Also, all I need you to do is to check out whether dad asked him to give him money or he offered it himself." I clarified.

" It's not my business to ask you about details but all I can say is take care, Lily. Those people are out of our league, they are no joke," he said before I hanged up the phone.

If I confirm that he really planned all of this from the beginning then as Shawn said, his dad won't let go of me anytime soon, I don't even know what he wants which freaks me out even more. I will have to come up with an escape plan if my doubt was positively confirmed. I messaged the girls to deliver my explanation to Jack somehow; I don't want him to create any trouble so I had to eliminate the problem before it occurs.

I asked the driver to drive them to the nearest bus stop, I made sure they rode it then I went back to the car, which drove me home. It was exactly 7:50 when I reached home, Gerald was strict about having at least two meals together and I didn't want to anger him. Shawn was also sitting beside him as the maid started serving our meals.

" How was your meeting with your friends?" Gerald asked.

" It's been a while since we last saw each other so it was a good chance for us to chat for a while."

" Good, you need to choose your friends carefully though, friends' betrayals are the deadliest." He uttered as he looked into my eyes. His stare was long and creepy, I didn't know whether it held a meaning behind it or not. I don't also know why does this family turn everything into a weapon, how did they come to think this way.

I started getting curious bit by bit about Shawn; I wanted to know more about how he grew up and what he went through so far, it was mere curiosity, nothing more and nothing less.

" I heard you got into a fight today," Gerald stated.

Is he watching me? I don't think that Shawn told him so how did he know?

" Yes, but nothing bad happened thankfully." I clarified.

" I sent the prime minister a small warning; I wouldn't like it if you were put in such a situation again."

Shawn did not comment on that, he was eating his meal peacefully as if he wasn't the cause for all of this.
