Sold to Mr. Arrogant novel Chapter 72

In the morning, Jessy was applying my makeup for me, I had to trick Shawn into thinking that everything is okay. I thought about telling him but I knew that Gerald would still do what he wants even if his son disapproved. I didn't want to bet on my friends' lives.

"Thanks, Jessy," I mumbled.

"No problem, I will pray for you, Lily,"

"Thanks, dear,"

I got downstairs to eat breakfast with the man who ruined my life, it wasn't my biological dad nor 18 years old dad but this man particularly who fuckin ruined everything.

"Why didn't you tell me directly, Lily, You agreed to marry me?" Shawn asked.

"Yeah, I would love to, as you said I am attracted to you, also Gerald asked me to so I couldn't disagree," I mentioned.

"That is quite sudden, I am surprised..." Shawn continued.

"I am happy though," he added.

"You shall make sure that you take good care of her," Gerald instructed.

"No worries,"

We finished our meal and headed to the car, before I hop in I was pulled towards Shawn's chest, he hugged me strongly.

"I have a feeling that dad struck a deal with you but I don't mind. I already like the idea of marrying you," he started.

"Me too," I lied.

We hopped in the car and reached college, I tried to act cool as much as I could. Alicia might have noticed that I wasn't alright but she didn't mention anything about it. I bet she had her own problems as well, everyone has his own problems after all.

' Hello, little one. I am glad that you have contacted me first, you are bright just like your father was. I am already aware of your father's will, I was his right-handed man after all. I know under whose name he wrote his properties and I also know your true identity. I will make sure to put an end to Gerald’s era. I have to play it slowly and carefully though if we want to catch him red-handed. I am sorry I am using you this way and I hope you help me from the inside from now on.'

This is how the powerful people play, secretly and carefully. That is why he let me leave that day, he already knew my intentions. He is using me to his advantage, I guess that relying on Siergo is a better option than waiting for Gerald to release me. I felt a little bit more hopeful...

' I will count on you.' I sent him in agreement as I had no other choice.

I deleted the messages and hopped in my bed. Tomorrow's my wedding, Jessy has delivered me the dress and I will have to wake up early to supervise all the arrangements. I was told that I can invite my friends but I just can't. I can't lie to them saying that I marrying out of love. I won't be able to tolerate people's jealousy when I do not even want to be a part of this marriage.

The sun was rising, I still couldn't sleep knowing that I will marry when I wake up. I received several messages last night, there were all from my friends, I could not reply though which made me so upset but I couldn't do anything about it.

It was 6 pm and the vast greenhouse around the mansion was filled with many guests. I wore my dress and watched myself in the mirror as my makeup artist applied makeup for me. My dress was fabulous, to be honest, but its beauty is useless if I am forced to wear it, to begin with.

I got out of the mansion and everyone was waiting for the bride to walk along the aisle, I was surprised when I spotted all my friends and acquaintances. How are they here? I wondered.
