Sold to Mr. Arrogant novel Chapter 74

Shawn's POV:

She turned red as always, I didn't know whether she was just way too nervous or disappointed. I wanted to make her feel good though so I decided to make a move.

Only thin air was separating between both our bodies, she was breathing heavily, her breast was rubbing against mine. She does not know that I am the one who chose her the dress; it does not show much of her skin, well, her skin is mine alone to touch and contemplate.

I slid the straps of her dress exposing her white smooth skin, the dress fell to the floor, she was wearing a tight black top and shorts underneath. I lift her up bride-style and placed her body gently on the bed, I was too excited for this. I hopped on the bed as I took off my chemise and unzipped my pants. I glanced at her cute face and spotted her fidgeting her fingers nervously.

"Hey... Hey... Why are you so nervous?" I asked.

"I don't want to do this, I really don't..."

"Why?" I could feel my voice cracking, why is she acting like this, she said that she is glad but all I can see is someone who does not feel secure by my side.

I was hurt to see her like that, which is when a thought came to my mind. Could it be? I hopped out of the bed not waiting for her reply, I was mad, to be honest, so I rushed out of the room and slammed the door behind me angrily. I have to speak with my dad, I was feeling it and suddenly I no longer feel a thing. As if I was hit by a block of ice straight to my face, I felt ashamed and pissed off.

Without knocking I intruded dad's office on the second floor, he was meeting with his lawyer, they stopped speaking as soon as I entered. I threw my body on the couch crossing my legs and motioning them to continue whatever they were talking about.

"Go ahead," dad ordered his lawyer.

"As I said, sir. You can freely use the company and the money as you want, she has already signed the contract," the lawyer continued.

"What company?" I asked.

"You are free to go, I will call you later," Dad informed him.

"What company?" I repeated.

"Lily's company, she inherited Indigo's wealth?"

"What? Care to explain further?"

"Lily is Indigo's only child, we discovered that only a month before he died, I wanted to take care of my niece as it was the only thing I can do for my dead brother. I implanted her in our mansion and I guess you know the rest..."

"That is why you wanted me to marry her?" I asked surprised by this rush of information.

"Yes, that is the best way to assure her safety, I am glad you liked her and here we are. I made you marry on this blissful day," he continued.

"Does she know all of that?"

I headed to my room to sleep in it, it was three am and I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in," I said.

"Are you awake?" Lily asked.

"Yes, do you need anything?" I replied coldly.

"I just wanted to apologi..."

"Later, I want to sleep now..." I cut her off, I recalled my conversation with dad earlier and it pissed me off to speak with her now.

She kept standing in front of the door acting hurt by my comment before she finally left shutting the door behind her. I did not mean to embarrass her but I really need to check up on the facts before I can deal with her.

The idea that she might be forced to marry me enraged me as well, am I that bad? Why doesn't she trust me? All those questions wandered my mind, the fact that I will have to also fight my dad if all of that is proved right made me a little bit anxious.

I had no doubt that I can defeat him if I go against him, but what bothered me is that the kind of defeat in our world bears only two meanings; death or prison. I did not wish anyone of them.
