Chapter 1124 Backups
Zack looked back and saw that not far away, about forty or fifty people got out of more than ten cars. Each of them held steel rods or kitchen knives in their hands as they strode over in this direction.
Seeing the bustling crowd, they could not help but step back a few meters to make room for them, so as not to accidentally hurt themselves by standing too close.
“No way! I didn’t expect Cory to call so many people. That guy who just kicked Cory is done for now!”
“No matter how skilled they are, they’re no match for a kitchen knife or a steel rod. If they get hit or slashed with those, they are done for.”
“These forty or fifty people could kick those two guys to death with just one kick each. They’re really unlucky. They shouldn’t have offended the rich people if they don’t have the ability! Look, now they have got themselves in trouble and are caught off guard by the backups.”
The surrounding murmurs continued, and not a single person believed that Alex and Zack could come out unscathed from a group of forty or fifty people.
Cory clutched his chest and walked toward the people who had just arrived. With a fawning smile on his face, he addressed the man with a gold necklace who was leading the group. “Mr. Daxton, you finally arrived! If you were any later, these two would have beaten me to death.”
Upon hearing Cory’s words, the man called Daxton spat the cigarette from his mouth onto the ground. He asked, “I brought forty or fifty men with me today, so handling a few guys for you is no problem at all. But how much are you going to pay for this?”
The two people did not have a deep friendship to begin with; they were merely fair-weather friends. Daxton’s help would no doubt have money involved.
Cory was a bit distressed about spending money. But when he thought of how Alex and Zack had humiliated him in front of so many people, he was willing to spend any amount of money to take them down.
H said resolutely, “Mr. Daxton, please help me teach these two people a hard lesson. I’m willing to offer two hundred thousand as a token of gratitude to you and your men.”
Daxton was very satisfied with that amount of offer, as it would be enough for him to let the good times roll for a short while. He turned his gaze toward the crowd that was not far away.
Although there were hundreds of people waiting at the entrance of the Grant residence, they all deliberately maintained a certain distance from Alex and Zack.
Alex and Zack were isolated from the crowd and were directly exposed in front of Daxton.
Daxton took a casual glance. He did not pay much attention to these two people. One was a plump man who seemed to have some strength, while the other one was a man with a pretty face and clearly too delicate to withstand any hardship.
“Guys, surround these two people!”
On Daxton’s command, forty to fifty men immediately surrounded Alex and Zack.
Seeing the situation, Zack was quite frightened. However, what worried him more was the safety of Alex. If I die, so be it, but I didn’t expect to drag an innocent person into this mess.
“Alex, I’m truly sorry for dragging you into this misfortune with me…” Zack said helplessly.
