At night, when Kate heard the news that Alex demanded a three hundred million compensation for her, she felt an inexplicable warmth in her heart.

When Heather saw that it was already half–past eight, she started panicking. After hesitating for some time, she finally called the chairman. 

At that moment, Alex was teaching Stanley to read when his other phone rang. He recognized Heather’s phone number immediately and smirked as he picked it up. 

“Chairman, are you on the way?” Heather probed. 

Smiling mockingly, Alex put up a hoarse voice. “Oh! I’m so sorry. I completely forget about our appointment. I’m afraid we have to cancel this today since I’ve already reached home.” 

There was no way Alex would attend that date today since he had intended to ditch Heather from the 

start. 

“Oh? I see. Then we shall meet next time.” Although Heather was displeased, she still tried her best to sound cheery.

Heather felt dejected when the ‘chairman‘ hung up on her.
