Chapter 435 Paying Respect To His Mother
It did not take a long time for Alex to find Maggie again.
Maggie’s face flushed once again when she saw Alex and was reminded of how he peed on those men in the bathroom.
Seeing how red Maggie’s face was, Alex felt embarrassed too because he knew what Maggie was thinking
about.
Had he known that Maggie would rush in like that, he would not have peed on Harvey and the others.
After all, Alex was a decent man and he had a reputation to uphold.
“We should head home now.” It was already midnight when Alex looked at the time.
“Okay.” Maggie agreed and followed behind Alex, but she was afraid to look him in the eyes.
As Maggie looked a little drunk, Alex was worried about her safety, so he offered to send her home, “Let me drive.”
“Okay.”
Maggie nodded and gave the car key to Alex, so he got into the driver’s seat and waited for Maggie to fasten her seat belt before driving off.
The next morning, Alex got up early and left the Grant family mansion.
It was the death anniversary of his mother, so he bought some flowers before heading to the cemetery.
Kneeling before his mother’s tombstone, Alex’s eyes welled up the moment he touched the etching of his mother’s name.
“I’m so sorry, mom. I know It’s been eight years. I should’ve been here sooner. But don’t you worry because I’ve already avenged you. Susan strangled you with a white cloth, so I made that b*tch kill herself with one too.”
Missing his mother badly, Alex continued to kneel before her grave and mumbled, “I’m married now, mom. I even have å beautiful son and I’ll bring him along next time. I know you would’ve loved your grandson if you were still around.”
Memories of his mother started to flash before his eyes as he remembered her soft gaze and her warm
smiles.
“I have to go now, mom. I’ll visit you again with Stanley next year.”
After laying down his flowers, Alex wiped the tears off his face and stood up.
Suddenly, he noticed a girl in her twenties watching him from somewhere not too far away.
“Reine?” Alex asked under his breath in disbelief at how much the girl looked like his cousin, Reine Morton.
They had not seen each other for eight years and Reine was only twelve back then. Even though the girl looked very similar to Reine, Alex could not be sure.

“Are you Alex?” asked the girl hesitantly. It seemed that they were both unsure of each other’s identity, but Alex was easier to be recognized because of how little he had changed over the eight years.
“Yes, I am. Are you Reine?” nodded Alex before confirming his assumption.
“Have you come to visit aunt?” inquired Reine.
“Yup.”
Alex turned to look at the tombstone again, “I’ve been afraid to come back to Lumenopolis for the past eight years. Today was my first visit to see mom.”
He then turned back to Reine, “You’ve come to pay your respect too?”
“Yes.”
