The same went for Jacob. 

Even all those who had just left the auction hall were staggered by Alex’s terrifying strength. 

Takeshi and Haruko exchanged a glance, both their eyes narrowing a fraction. 

Subsequently, they started conversing in Jetroinian. Takeshi urged in hushed tones, “He’s extremely skilled. Therefore, you’ve got to be careful when making your move later.” 

Nodding, Haruko replied, “I think he’s just mediocre. It’s just a few bodyguards, after all. I, too, can fall them all with a hand tied behind my back.” 

Takeshi stole another glance at Alex a near distance away before he nodded and murmured, “Anyhow, he doesn’t seem all that simple. As such, let’s vamoose immediately after getting the purple ginseng later to avoid any unexpected incidences.” 

With a nod, Haruko reassured with confidence etched on her face, “Don’t worry, Takeshi. Do you not trust in my fighting skills?” 

Takeshi mulled it over for a moment. Thinking that his sister wasn’t too weak either, he said nothing further. 

Right at that instance, stupefaction and incredulity swamped Stuart as he gaped at his stellar bodyguards, who were groaning on the ground, as well as Alex’s scornful expression. 

“Hey! No matter how skilled you are at fighting, you’re just a thug! You’re nothing before rich people! At most, you’re just a dog they rear!” 

When Alex brazenly embarrassed him once more, Stuart almost lost his mind with rage. 

“Fighting is also a skill. Take this moment now, for example. What can you do to me if I were to slap you?” 

As Alex said that, he struck Stuart across the face without giving the latter any time to dodge. He then stared at the dazed man and drawled mockingly, “Look, what’s so great about having money? I slapped you, but what can you do to me?” 

A few people who recognized Stuart were totally stumped by then. 

Good heavens! Someone actually dared to smack him here, and that perpetrator is the live-in son-in-law of the Jennings family at that! Is he sick of living? 

Stuart was also bowled over. He actually dared to hit me in public? He’s simply humiliating me! 

“How dare you hit me? I’m going to kill you!” The man roared, jolting back to his senses. 

“So what if I slapped you? Are you going to kill me?” 

Sneering, Alex lifted his hand and swung it across Stuart’s face several times. 

Stuart was livid, yet he couldn’t do anything to the man. 

Even my eight stellar bodyguards weren’t his match, let alone me! 

“Go ahead and lodge a police report. I can guarantee you Stuart’s face will be a disfigured mess before the police arrive.” A faint smile tugged at Alex’s lips, and he wasn’t at all bothered about Ally’s threat. 

As Ally took out her phone, she kept her eyes on Alex. Out of the blue, realization dawned upon her that it would be of no use even if she were to lodge a police report. On the contrary, it would only humiliate her employer further. 

The moment Stuart noticed Ally whipping out her phone as though she was going to call the police, stark fear struck him. He instantly shouted angrily. “If you dare lodge a police report, mark my words that I’m going to destroy you!” 

He was no fool, so he truly believed that Alex definitely had the guts to disfigure him if she were to lodge a police report. 

Ally’s heart lurched, and her expression changed drastically. She hastily put her phone away, not even daring to mention a single word about it. 

Stuart then turned to Alex and pleaded, “Please don’t do anything rash. Alex.” 

“Why? Are you now afraid?” Alex questioned sarcastically. 

Stuart went silent, yet everyone could tell that he was scared out of his wits. 

When he said nothing, Alex continued, “If you want me to spare you, address me as your lord and master. Do so thrice, and I’ll let you off if I’m satisfied.” 

Stuart’s expression was exceedingly grim, but at the thought that Alex would certainly disfigure him if he refused to do so, he dipped his head and muttered, “I’m sorry, Lord Jefferson. Please spare me!”
