You’re not worthy. She crumpled at the thought, staring mindlessly at the screen. 

After switching off the phone, Alex let out a huge sigh. His frustration was out of place in the celebratory ambiance that surrounded him. 

Alex thought to just check out her live stream, but Heather unexpectedly demanded him to send her presents. 

Previously, as soon as Stuart sent her presents, she immediately agreed to meet him in person, without any regard for Dylan’s safety. 

Heather, who Alex once fell in love immensely, was now a changed person. For the sake of money, she could do anything. 

If using Anonymuncle’s identity was sufficient to get Heather to sleep with him, it was as if he had already been cheated on. 

Without realizing that the concert was over and the crowd had dispersed, Alex sat on his seat empty- headed. 

“Hey, Mr. Jefferson!” Alex heard a sweet voice calling out to him, which pulled him back to reality. He looked upwards and noticed Carlene standing in front of him. 

He uttered. “The concert is over? Let’s head back home then. Your performance is amazing. The company will provide you with more resources the next time.” 

Alex was quite satisfied with the concert and he had a good impression of Carlene. The feeling was entirely professional, nothing personal or intimate of sorts. 

Carlene nodded with gratitude. Her beautiful features were embellished by a pinkish skin tone. Her blush resembled a ripe apple, alluring and charming. 

Just like any other ordinary man, Alex was tempted to bite into her.. 

Fortunately, he managed to curb those thoughts from materializing. 

Alex coughed and said, “I have something else to attend to. Please excuse me.” 

Carlene panicked and stopped him in his tracks. 

“What’s wrong? Is there anything else?” Alex was confused. 

Carlene raised her head shyly and avoided eye contact. The redness of her cheeks was readily visible. Even she herself realized that her actions were inappropriate. 

“I am thinking of treating you to a meal as a token of appreciation,” she answered. 

Carlene could not explain her actions. Usually, she didn’t have any issues interacting with Alex, but it 

love with him. 

“That’s not necessary. It’s merely an investment from the company. Keep up the good work!” Alex explained. 

He wanted to keep his distance to avoid any misunderstanding- 

Carlene disappointedly looked towards Alex. Tears started to well up in her sparkling eyes. 

In a last-ditch attempt, she begged. “All I ask is to treat you to a meal. Can’t you just say yes to me?”
