All of a sudden, a group of men surrounded the three of them. 

Alex had already noticed them when they first entered. He even heard the conversation between David and Zachariah. 

He put away his utensils, kept quiet, and stared at David and his men.

Zachariah was yelling near his ear. Annoyed, he turned around and gave Zachariah a tight slap. “Unless permitted by me, keep quiet and stand over there!” 

Zachariah was completely caught off guard. He never imagined Alex to respond so aggressively. Although his face stung in pain, he kept quiet and dared not speak a word.
