Chapter 633 Unavoidable Enemy 

Liana’s message was clear. She meant that Carlene was trying to get in bed with Alex because of the five million. 

Carlene who had always been reserved and soft-spoken, could not accept such preposterous allegations. Infuriated, she slammed the table and stood up. 

Carlene’s face blushed with anger and embarrassment. She stared intently at Liana, but no words came out of her mouth. 

Liana once again took the opportunity and leaned towards Alex, feigning to be terrified after Carlene’s outburst. 

Her arms wrapped tightly around Alex, and her chest softly pressed against his arm. 

Like a traumatized fawn, Liana clinched to Alex for warmth and support.

“Mr. Jefferson, she’s so fierce. I’m afraid of her. Did I say anything wrong to Ms. Bolton?” Liana muttered shakingly. 

It was the first time Carlene had feelings for a man. Ironically, it was also her first encounter with a person 

like Liana. 

She knew Liana did it on purpose, but she could not outwit her. Although feeling enraged, she chose to suppress her emotions as Alex was present. 

“Oh, come on. Are you a three-year-old kid? Surely you must know that your statement was highly inappropriate!” Carlene firmly rebuked. 

She felt better after reprimanding Liana. She initially wanted to leave right away, but that would mean falling into Liana’s tricks.

He knew what was going on in their minds, but he could not do anything about it. 

Alex made it very clear to Liana that he was not interested in her. However, Liana was rather adamant. 

Either way, he would have offended one of them, which was undesirable. At the end of the day, they were both very capable persons that contributed to the company’s growth. 

Liana was disappointed. Her tricks had always worked on most men, but it was ineffective against Alex. 

She felt like talking to a wall! 

Carlene sarcastically replied, “Stop trying to play the victim! Instead of surrounding yourself with men, you should pay a visit to the mental hospital. Maybe you will find out what’s wrong with you!” 

Liana distended from the embarrassment and her face was colored in red. 

Alex chuckled. He never thought that a well-mannered woman like Carlene had such a dramatically. different side of her. She was sassy and sharp with her words. 

At the very beginning, Liana had the upper hand. But Carlene managed to stand her ground and she fought back hard. The back-and-forth war between the two women was fun to watch. 

It was even better than watching a movie in the cinema!
