Chapter 801 Bribing The Receptionist 

The news of Clara and Shawn being thrown out of the restaurant spread rapidly among the patrons, and everyone came to understand that the unassuming young man before them was no ordinary man, but a 

hidden titan. 

It seemed that a real tycoon like Alex preferred to keep a low profile and would only reveal their wealth. and power when the situation called for it. 

Maggie’s face lit up with a radiant smile. Without a second thought, she leaned over and planted a kiss on Alex’s face, leaving a lipstick mark on his cheek. 

“Alex, thank you! It seems you really do care for me,” she said with a smile. 

“You’re reading too much into it. They were being a nuisance and had interrupted my meal,” Alex replied. tersely with a hint of irritation in his voice. 

In truth, he was annoyed by Shawn’s brazenness and his constant harassment of Maggie. However, fearing she might misconstrue his intentions, he chose to keep his intention to himself. 

Suddenly, Alex wiped the spot where Maggie had kissed him and reminded her, “Don’t act so foolishly in the future.” 

Maggie pouted defiantly. “How is it foolish? I just gave you a small kiss. Is that too much to ask for when you are to become my husband soon?” 

Alex was at a loss for words. There just was no reasoning with this woman. Hence, he turned his attention. back to his meal. 

Watching his reaction, Maggie concealed a knowing smile. 

Meanwhile, Shawn and Clara, having been expelled from the restaurant, seethed with anger outside. 

They had come to enjoy the signature dishes of Arthur’s Tavern, and before they even had a chance to get comfortable, they were abruptly thrown out. It was utterly humiliating. 

“I never thought that pauper could be so wealthy. D’mn it, we have completely misjudged him!” Shawn grumbled in frustration. 

Clara was equally infuriated, possibly even more than Shawn, as she was really aggrieved. She had hoped. that Shawn would help her seek revenge, but it turned out he had his sights set on another woman. 

In the end, they were both kicked out of the restaurant without even having a bite to eat. It was her first time suffering such humiliation. 

The duo ended up having to settle for another decent restaurant nearby. 

When they returned to Royal Hotel, Clara snuck out of their room after Shawn had fallen asleep and made her way to the hotel’s lobby. 

“Miss, could you tell me which room the young man who entered the hotel earlier is staying in?” she asked the receptionist tentatively. 

She wasn’t sure if the receptionist would know who she was referring to. 

As it happened, the receptionist remembered Alex well, due to his distinctive pants and the fact that Royal

“Are you looking for Mr. Jefferson? Do you need him for something?” the receptionist asked doubtfully. 

Upon hearing the receptionist’s response, Clara’s heart lifted. She hadn’t expected the receptionist to know exactly who she was talking about. 

“Yes, that’s him! I have some matters to discuss with him. Could you tell me which room he’s staying in?” she reiterated with an unusually polite tone. 

Clara wouldn’t have bothered being polite to a mere receptionist if she didn’t need her help. 

To her dismay, the receptionist shook her head and said, “I’m sorry, but we can’t disclose our esteemed. guest’s private information.”
