“Happy birthday, Old Mr. Grant! May you stay forever young,” said Lydia. 

Sitting in the main seat, Richard nodded with satisfaction and turned to another elderly man who was around his age. “This granddaughter of yours is sweet with her words, not to mention she’s getting prettier every day. What on earth did you do to deserve such a wonderful granddaughter?” 

Lydia blushed and approached her grandfather shyly when she heard Richard’s praise. 

Giles Siddall’s heart swelled with pride as he glanced at Lydia, who hid behind him. The latter was his dearest granddaughter. Hence, he was delighted to hear his old friend praise her.
