Chapter 854 Incapacitated
Alex thanked Stannis, and at the same time did not intend to hold a grudge against Daphne. His years in Nebula City had forged his tolerance.
After their meal, Alex and his two companions returned to their accommodation. Along the way, Maggie suddenly asked, “Aren’t you usually a lot more trigger-happy than this? Why were you so accommodative to that b*tch, Daphne, today?”
“There wasn’t a need to,” Alex replied carelessly before turning his attention to Stanley. “Did you enough to eat today?”
Stanley patted his bulging belly. “I’m stuffed! I want to go out for a walk, Daddy.”

Maggie raised her hand at once. “I second Stanley’s suggestion.”“
Looking as if they had rehearsed it, they even exchanged winks and a fist bump.
“I hear a lot about children going missing when they go out for walks, and nothing ever comes of them despite the police reports made,” Alex remarked.
When he was having a cigarette outside with Stannis earlier, Stannis had reminded Alex to be wary when he noticed the latter traveling with a child.
“You should come with us and be our bodyguard. I’ve seen your moves. We have nothing to be afraid of with you there!” Maggie said, laughing as she gave him a playful smack.
She does have a point. I am indeed a Master. If Stanley draws unwanted attention, I can easily teach them a lesson.
After a lengthy discussion, the trio settled on taking a walk to ease their digestion.
Atop Green Mountain Monastery sat an old monk in his late seventies. He was clad in a robe made of gold thread and looked as if he was engulfed in a shimmering light.
Seated in meditation with his eyes closed, he mumbled a mantra under his breath, giving one the impression of being a pious and devout Divine Priest.
After the devotees left, he opened his eyes and stood up to address the younger monk beside him. “Did Antoine really get beaten up?”
Noticing that Fonzo was addressing him, the younger monk did not dare hold back. He told the former everything.
Fonzo’s brow crumpled at the news. It was the first time in his many years in Green Mountain Monastery he had encountered something of this nature.
There used to be legions who would come to curry favor with me. Now, somebody shows up to cause trouble! This fellow plainly does not show me, Fonzo of Green Mountain Monastery, any respect.
“Are you absolutely sure that young fellow broke all of Antoine’s bones in a single punch?” Fonzo asked.
“Absolutely. Master Antoine has been admitted to the hospital. Though his condition has stabilized, he can never leave his bed again,” the young monk mumbled, terrified of being the recipient of Fonzo’s redirected anger.
