Chapter 855 The Secret Of Green Mountain Monastery
“Daddy, Ms”Grant, there’s a monastery there!” Stanley shouted at Alex and Maggie, who were talking at
the back.
By then, Alex and Maggie had also hiked up. They had a clear view of the monastery hidden in the mountains. There was a signboard with the words “Green Mountain Monastery.”
In truth, they had visited Green Mountain Monastery during the day. Although it was only a monastery, the interior was grand and opulent. Even the statues in the main hall were plated with gold.
However, the monastery that suddenly appeared in front of them was very much different from the one they had visited in the morning.
While it was not dilapidated, it was pretty run down. Its gates were even barely hanging on its hinges. But strangely enough, not a speck of dust could be found.
Hmm? Could it be that there are still people in there?
That possibility was high. Alex frowned, baffled as to why there were two Green Mountain Monasteries, much less the vast disparity between them.
“I want to go in for a look, Daddy!” Stanley’s eyes were fixed on the gates of Green Mountain Monastery in curiosity, and he practically vibrated with anticipation.
That Green Mountain Monastery emanated a sense of sinisterness. Alex, who had always preferred to avoid trouble, had actually planned to make a detour and leave. Never had he expected Stanley’s curiosity to be so strong.
After a brief hesitation, he decided to fulfill Stanley’s paltry wish since he had the capability to protect his son and Maggie from harm, even if there were malicious beings in there.
“I don’t think that’s a good idea… For some inexplicable reason, I’m getting goosebumps all over.” Maggie shuddered. From the moment she laid eyes on the monastery before her, a strange feeling struck her, and she instinctively wanted to stay away from it
Walking over to her, Stanley patted himself on the chest and asserted, “You don’t have to be afraid, Ms. Grant. I’ll protect you at the front. Even if I fall short, there’s still Daddy!”
Despite the fear lingering within her, it had dissipated significantly after Maggie heard the boy’s assurance. Ruffling his hair, she relented, “Since you want to go in for a look. I’ll accompany you in. Stanley. Anyway, we’ve got your daddy to protect us.”
Seeing that they were going to explore Green Mountain Monastery, Alex no longer hesitated. He pushed open the gates of Green Mountain Monastery. With a grating screech, the gates swung open.
The sky was gradually darkening. Fortunately, the moon was bright that night, affording them a clear view beyond the gates. Trash littered the ground everywhere.
There were beer bottles, potato chip packets, Coca-Cola bottles, and tattered clothes. On top of that, even children’s shoes, caps, and the like could be seen.
At that sight, Alex was almost sure that someone was living there. Could it be that a family with a child stays here?
Soon, he nixed that conjecture as he caught sight of a puddle of blood in a dark corner. Although it had

already turned black, he could still tell it was recent.
“I’m scared. Alex!” Maggie tremblingly made her way over to Alex and huddled close to him. Only then. did the terror within her wane.
“Go back with Stanley first. There’s something wrong here. I’m going to take a look around,” Alex suggested solemnly.
Not only was it already past eight o’clock at night then, but they were also in the wilderness. Thus, Maggie was not brave enough to go back with Stanley alone.
