At the Jennings residence in Nebula City, Lucas was stunned by the sight that greeted him when he openest the door. The entire house was empty. The couch, electrical appliances, and antiques were all

As Carmen’s voice rang out from the phone, Lucas was clueless as to who the Mr. Ward his mother mentioned was. 

As the only possibility dawned upon him, he replied in displeasure, “Mom, don’t tell me Mr. Ward is your new companion. I don’t agree with this. I’m sure Heather objects to it too! By the way, why didn’t you tell me that you guys have moved? I was only gone for a few days. Yet you have already abandoned your own 

son?” 

Carmen was puzzled over the line, unable to make sense of what Lucas was talking about. “You idiot, what in the world are you talking about? Mr. Ward is at home right now! Try to be a good host and don’t get into a fight. Otherwise. I’m not going to forgive you!” 

Lucas was equally confused by Carmen’s words as he scanned the empty house again. The only thing I found here is this broken chair. Other than that, there’s no sign of anyone at all. 

After scratching his head, Lucas went out to take another look, just to make sure he wasn’t at the wrong place. By the time he looked at his phone, Carmen had already ended the call. 

Hence, Lucas resigned himself to putting his phone back in his pocket and waiting for Carmen to return. so that he could clarify the matter.
