Chapter 876 Let Us Die Together 

“Just let me die! I’m too ashamed to continue living after being cheated of so much money,” Carmen wailed. 

She didn’t really want to die, but she was so afraid of her children blaming her that she had to resort to such a tactic. 

Sure enough, Heather anxiously grabbed Carmen’s arm. “Mom! What’s happened has happened. What good would it be to kill yourself? Now that the money’s gone, we should figure out how to track Aiden down!” 

Lucas, however, merely leaned against the wall, not bothered about how Carmen wanted to kill herself. To him, the woman deserved to die for losing all his money. 

In fact, he was more annoyed at how noisy she was, to the point where he wanted to sew her mouth shut. After a while, he rubbed his temples and shouted, “Mom, will you shut up? Think about how to save me, for goodness’ sake!” 

The Jennings family was in an utter mess, and it all started because of the ten billion. They wouldn’t have gotten into so much trouble if they hadn’t obtained such an eye-watering sum of money. 

Needless to say, Heather turned ashen after learning about the money Lucas owed at the casino. She was under so much pressure that she even wanted to leave the family for good.. 

Although there were many similar troublesome matters in the past, they always seemed to resolve themselves without her ever worrying about them. 

Unfortunately, she had lost her knight in shining armor, and no one else would help her as much as he 

did. 

With that thought in mind, Heather buried her face in her hands and crumpled to the ground. She couldn’t stop her tears from flowing, nor could she stop herself from regretting her past actions. 

Oh, dear… I wish I could tell Alex that I’ve realized my mistakes. I had been so wrong! That said, would he forgive me for everything I had done? If only I could turn back time and slap myself to my senses. Perhaps then, things wouldn’t be so disastrous now… As if it isn’t bad enough that we’re already divorced, there’s another more attractive woman by Aler’s side. D*mn it… I’m so afraid that he’d fall in love with someone else! 

Just then, Carmen nudged Heather to bring her out of her daze. “Come on, Heather. Think of a way to save your brother! You’re not going to let him die, are you? How are things between you and the chairman of Four Seas Corporation? Since he treats you well and you’re already divorced, I’m sure he’d help Lucas if you ask him to.” 

Heather lifted her head and stared blankly at Carmen. “The chairman of Four Seas Corporation is Alex Jefferson, the man I had just gotten divorced from… Can’t you see that you’re the reason for our family’s downfall? It’s your fault that we lost our money and I lost my husband. Are you happy now? Didn’t you say you wanted to die? Let’s die together, then! I’m sick of living, anyway.” 

The next second, she pulled Carmen toward the wall. “I won’t stop you now. Come on. Let’s smash our heads into the wall and end our misery!” 

By then, Carmen had shrunk away and averted Heather’s gaze. She was only putting on an act when she blurted out about ending her life. There was no way she’d have done it for real.
