Chapter 875 Prepare To Bury Me 

“You’ve lived long enough to know what you should or shouldn’t do, so how did you still get cheated of all your money? Are you dumb? Have you lost your mind?” Lucas yelled at Carmen. 

He was filled with so much unbridled rage that he didn’t even care that he was lashing out at his own mother. 

“You stupid id ot! That was nine billion, for goodness’ sake! Losing that money is as good as killing me.” he added, huffing and puffing as he did. “You’d better be prepared to bury me once the three days are up!” 

If she weren’t my mother. I’d have strangled her with my bare hands! 

Likewise, Carmen couldn’t care that her son was screaming his head off at her. She had nearly been driven mad by Aiden and was already on the verge of a nervous breakdown. 

“I-I didn’t do it on purpose… I never thought this would happen, either,” she muttered as tears rolled down her cheeks. The thought of ending her own life had even crossed her mind, but try as she might, she couldn’t bring herself to do so. 

“What’s the use of apologizing now? I racked up a hundred million debt at the casino, and if I can’t pay it back, you can start preparing for my funeral!” Lucas bellowed. 

I didn’t even think the hundred million was an issue until now… Argh! How could any of this have happened? Mom’s pushing me to my grave! 

An anxiety-ridden Carmen quickly grabbed her son’s arm, her face still smudged with snot and tears. “What are you talking about, Lucas? What’s this about a funeral? Haven’t I given you one billion previously? As long as we watch our spending, we’d still be able to live a comfortable life.” 

“If you can be cheated of nine billion, why can’t I spend one billion?” Lucas retorted as he 

unceremoniously shoved his mother away and pulled his hair in frustration. “I’m done for, and it’s all your fault! Why do I have such a dumb and useless mother?” 

After listening to the brief rundown, Carmen finally understood what had happened. 

Unrepentant as always and confident that he had money to burn, Lucas had gone to the casino to try his luck. He started by betting hundreds of thousands on each hand and eventually resorted to borrowing a whopping one billion from Dmitri. In the end, he lost all the money. 

If Lucas hadn’t told Dmitri that his family was wealthy, the latter wouldn’t have released him home. 

Alas, he never expected that his family would be struck by such a misfortune, either. 

“Calm down, Lucas. Everything will be fine… Have you forgotten that the chairman of Four Seas Corporation is interested in Heather? That makes you his future brother-in-law. How could he not help you?” Carmen coaxed, having brushed aside Lucas’ harsh words from before.
