Chapter 888 Hidden Wolf
Just a moment ago, the amusement park abruptly announced its imminent closure and told its guests and its staff to leave.
Everyone was confused, for nothing like that had ever happened in the amusement park before.
Furthermore, none of the park’s facilities had malfunctioned, and neither were there any casualties, so no one could wrap their heads around the sudden closure of the park.
Despite having yet to play to their heart’s contents, the guests left.
What they did not know was that there were more security guards around now, and those extra guards. were staring at the people exiting the park as they compared their faces to the face on their screens.
Alex, who was almost at the exit, suddenly realized that something was amiss. Promptly, he guessed that the Wallace family of Lumenopolis had found their way to the park.
They’re fast, huh? Alex thought that he had two more days before they came.
He was not confident that he would be able to win against that mysterious expert combatant. As he fretted over the possibility of failing, he glanced at Stanley and Maggie, who were beside him.
Pausing in his tracks, he then pressed a kiss on their foreheads before putting on a nonchalant look. With a smile, he said to them, “Maggie, you should take Stanley back first. I have some things to deal with, and I’ll go back once I’m done with them.”
Even though Stanley had no idea what his father was going to work on, he obediently nodded.
Unlike him, the keen Maggie realized that something was wrong. Aler only said this after seeing the people by the exit. They can’t be all here for him, right?
Moving closer to Alex, Maggie then whispered, “What’s the matter? Alex, is something wrong? I don’t want to leave; I want to stay by your side.”
Right then, she thought about how Alex promised her that he was going to marry her if he survived this time.
It made Maggie even surer that Alex was in a perilous situation, so she grabbed his hand and refused to let go of him.
When Alex saw the worry in her eyes, he smiled and patted her head. “Be good, okay? Take Stanley back. I have something to settle, and once I’m done, I’ll go back. If you stay here, I’ll be distracted.”
Tears welled up in Maggie’s eyes. If she were to stay, Stanley would have to stay as well.
Those people were after Alex. If she were to stubbornly argue with Alex about staying by his side, those people would soon notice them. After weighing the pros and cons, Maggie ultimately left with Stanley.
