Chapter 920 Helping Lucas 

“You mustn’t let him get away with this, Alex! He had his men beat me up at my house earlier! We need to at least get even with him!” Lucas exclaimed, feeling smug as he was no longer in danger. 

He was scared for his life because he owed Dmitri money, but that was no longer an issue as he had Alex to back him up. In fact, he got so smug that he even wanted to teach Dmitri a lesson in return. 

Alex shot him a cold glare and said, “How many times do I have to tell you this? Your sister and I are divorced, so I’m no longer your brother-in-law. I’m only taking action because they showed up at my office building and threatened to smash it up. You’re just as guilty for bringing them to me, but I’ll let this one slide. I will not show you any mercy if you do this again.” 

Lucas shuddered when he saw the icy-cold look in Alex’s eyes. He was no longer the submissive man that the Jenningses could order around like a servant. 

Fearing that Alex would refuse to help him out, Lucas kept his mouth shut and quickly stepped aside. 

Realizing that he had messed with someone he couldn’t afford to, Dmitri discarded his ego and pride as he fell to his knees and begged Alex for mercy. 

“I’m really sorry, mister! I didn’t know you were a friend of Flynn’s! I don’t want the money anymore! In fact, I’ll pay you one hundred and fifty million as compensation instead! Will you please let us go?” 

Oh? He’s offering to pay me instead? Alex chuckled in amusement when he heard that. 

Although Dmitri was at fault for being a loan shark, it remained an undeniable fact that Lucas borrowed money from him. 

Since Dmitri was offering to pay up. Alex had no reason to refuse his offer. 

Dmitri felt relieved when he saw that Alex was willing to let him off the hook. 

“Thank you very much! I will have my men bring you the money right away!” he said with a smile while suppressing the heartache of losing even more money. 

F*ck! I came here to collect the one hundred million that I lent out, but I ended up paying one hundred and fifty million instead! Wait a minute… Lucas lost five hundred million at my casino a while back, so I guess it isn’t that big of a loss, after all. 

“Oh, I didn’t say I’d let you off without any punishment, though. Your men kicked my security guard earlier, so I’m going to need compensation for that.” 

The security guard, who got kicked by the blond-haired man earlier, felt grateful when he saw Alex avenging him. 

The blond-haired man had fear written all over his face upon hearing that. Oh, no! That’s Flynn’s friend I offended! He could have me killed with the snap of a finger if he so much as felt like it! 

The blond-haired man shuddered as he slowly stepped forward and pleaded with Dmitri, “H-Help me, Dmitri! I only did that because I thought you’d be tired from all that standing!” 

Had it been anyone else standing before me, I would surely have defended my underling no matter what! However, this is Flynn we’re talking about! He could have me killed on the spot, and no one would bat an eye! 

“What are you going on about? You’ve done something wrong, so you need to take responsibility and 

apologize!” Dmitri yelled and gave the blond-haired man a kick in the chest. 

This guy is usually pretty smart, so why would he think that begging me for help would do him any good? I’m nothing compared to Flynn!
