Chapter 921 The Castle
Despite claiming he had no connection with the Jenningses anymore, Alex still stepped in to help Lucas overcome the crisis. He couldn’t bear to just stand by arul watch him suffer. It would be too cruel.
After the incident, Heather went to Four Seas Corporation to look for Alex, but the security guards stopped her at the entrance, forbidding her from entering the premises.
Meanwhile, Jessica had requested a week off from Alex. Though work in the office was overwhelming, he still granted her leave and took charge of managing the company himself.
As time passed by, several months flew by in the blink of an eye. Alex was impressed by the development of Regenerateur Enterprises. The chairman of Regenerateur Enterprises is indeed a capable and visionary person
After the battle with Fonzo, Alex gained some insights and improved slightly in terms of Mortal Force, but there had been no subsequent progress since then.
While other martial artists may envy the progress of his cultivation, Alex could not help but feel frustrated and even dissatisfied with his slow advancement.
On a different note, the five-hundred-million majestic castle he built for Maggie was completed within a few months. Such remarkable speed was possible because of the substantial investment pumped into it.
The residents of Nebula City were all wondering who possessed such an immense financial capacity to construct a grand castle with a budget of five hundred million.
Even people from the neighboring provinces came to visit and take pictures of the castle after it was completed. They were all amazed by the fairytale-like castle and were in awe of the wealth of its owner.
At that time, Maggie was still unaware of the buzz surrounding the castle in Lumenopolis. She dragged Alex to Lumenopolis with her, wanting to personally inform her grandfather about their engagement. When Alex told Richard about the good news over the phone, the latter slapped on the table and exclaimed in excitement.
Upon landing at the airport in Lumenopolis, Alex and Maggie saw Richard and Giles from a distance. Even Lydia came to the airport to welcome them.
Giles was a tad disappointed when he learned that Alex would be marrying Maggie. After all, Alex was the ideal grandson-in-law candidate he had chosen, but unfortunately, his dear old friend had beaten him to the punch.
Lydia’s cheerful mood was also ruined by the news. Overwhelmed by conflicting emotions, she was surprisingly silent, which was a rare sight because she was usually lively and energetic.
The happiest person of them all was none other than Richard. He walked up to Alex and patted the latter’s shoulder. “Young man, I felt a strong affinity when I first saw you, and soon, we’re going to be a family. How time flies! Maggie’s lucky to have a boyfriend like you.”
“You’re too kind, Old Mr. Grant. It’s my blessing to be able to be with someone as wonderful as Maggie. I’ll take good care of her,” Alex assured Richard, grasping Maggie’s hand. They exchanged a meaningful glance, their gazes brimming with pure happiness.
Richard felt content as he observed that their relationship seemed to have grown even stronger compared to when they celebrated his birthday.
He was pleased that his precious granddaughter didn’t let him down and managed to win over Alex’s
heart.
Richard walked up to Giles, patted his shoulder, and said with a smug look, “Well? What do you think of my grandson-in-law? Isn’t he outstanding
He then clicked his tongue and deliberately rubbed it in Giles’ face by saying. “Someone even threatened to snatch my grandson-in-law away, but unfortunately, he still failed in his attempts.”
