Chapter 959 Trouble At Work 

Kate cupped her cheeks and fixed a seductive gaze on Alex. The silky nightdress she wore accentuated her curves, while her long legs were provocatively exposed in the air. 

Stretching her hand out, she beckoned Alex to come nearer, “Come here. Alex!” 

Alex would usually react upon seeing Kate dressed skimpily, but right now, he wasn’t interested in her at all. 

In fact, he didn’t even notice the disgust in his gaze as he glanced at Kate. 

“Get out. It’s late, and I’d like to sleep now,” he said, his voice devoid of emotion. 

Kate’s disappointment was palpable, for she had intentionally dressed up for the occasion. hoping to seduce him that night. She had no inkling that Alex possessed the ability to remain unaffected in the presence of her alluring charms. 

“Alex, Emma is asleep, so don’t worry about her. She won’t disturb us,” she assured him. 

She had made herself clear. There’s no way an ordinary man with sexual urges will refuse to have 

ser with me. 

Alas, Alex refused to budge and stayed firm in his decision. He pulled Kate out of his bed. before pushing her out of his bedroom. 

Deep inside, Kate harbored a sense of deep grievance. If she hadn’t been intimate with Alex before, she would have suspected that something was amiss with him. How could he ignore me when I was all dressed up? 

She spun around to say something, but the door had already slammed shut in her face. 

The following morning, Alex woke up to receive a phone call from Jessica before he could have breakfast. 

“Mr. Jefferson, we need you to come to the company now. There seems to be an issue with the materials supplied by Regenerateur Enterprises previously. I attempted to address the matter with them, but they adamantly denied any responsibility,” Jessica reported with ant anxious tone in her voice. 

“All right. Wait for me. I’ll be there right away,” Alex told her. He swiftly ended the call, ready to head to work to find out what had happened. 

Kate had already prepared breakfast, so she quickly intervened to prevent him from leaving. “Alex, what’s the rush? What happened? You should have breakfast before you go!” she exclaimed. 

“No need,” Alex replied curtly. With that, he strode out and hopped into his car to head to work. 

Since it was Saturday, Stanley didn’t have to go to school. He felt disheartened upon waking up to find Alex already heading off to work. 

Last night, when Daddy told me my bedtime story, he promised to bring me to the amusement park. I’ve only been to the amusement park that Ms. Grant gave me a few times! 

Rubbing his eyes blearily, he went to Kate and asked, “Ms. Sutton, why did Daddy leave home in a hurry? Did anything happen?” 

Kate forcefully slammed the plate of breakfast she had prepared onto the table, causing a significant portion of the fried egg to slide off the plate onto the table. 

“How would I know?” she snapped impatiently.
