Chapter 981 True Nature 

Meanwhile, a red Ferrari came to a halt outside the Jefferson residence. 

An incredibly handsome foreigner dressed in a suit then came out of the car and walked toward the front door. 

With a smile on his face and a huge bouquet of roses in his hand, he adjusted his necktie before ringing the doorbell. 

Kate was lying on the couch with a facial mask on when she heard the doorbell ring. Thinking it was Alex, she quickly tore the mask off, washed her face, and adjusted her clothes before opening the door. 

When she saw Vinson standing outside the door, however, her smile was frozen in place. “What are you doing here in Eurasia? Why didn’t you tell me you were coming over?” she asked, her tone as cold as ice. 

Vinson maintained the smile on his face as he stared at Kate, who was wearing a sexy nightgown. 

After taking a moment to suppress his excitement and arousal, Vinson went down on one knee and held the roses up as he said earnestly. “You look really pretty today, Kate! I will be the luckiest man in the world if I can have you as my wife! Will you marry me?” 

He had come all the way to Eurasia in hopes of showing Kate his sincerity and how much he loved her. 

Kate frowned and massaged her forehead in annoyance. Ugh… Why won’t this guy leave me alone? I can’t seem to get rid of him no matter what I do! 

She then smacked the bouquet of flowers aside and snapped at him, “How I look has nothing to do with you! The father of my child will be coming home soon, so you had better leave now! I don’t want him getting the wrong idea!” 

It’s already eleven! As busy as things may be at Four Seas Corporation, Alex should be back by now! Could it be that he ran into some trouble on the way here? 

With that in mind, Kate glanced at the side of the road, only to let out a sigh when she didn’t see Alex’s car anywhere. 

Oh, how I wish I could continue working at Four Seas Corporation! That way, I could be around Alex every day! People are bound to develop some kind of attachment with each other when they spend a lot of time together, so he might just end up falling for me and marrying me! 

Vinson showed no sign of dejection even after Kate rejected him. Before she even realized what was going on, he hugged her tightly and said, “Stop thinking about that man, Kate! He left you and your child overseas and never bothered to check on you two! He does not deserve a great woman like you! You should come with me instead! I am the only one who can bring you happiness!” 

Kate struggled with all of her might and shoved Vinson off as she shouted, “Get lost! You are nothing compared to him! I will never be with you!” 

Vinson clenched his fists tightly when he heard that. He was the heir of a noble family from Ferropene, so hearing that he was nothing compared to a Eurasian did not sit well with him at all. 

On top of that, this was the first time Vinson had lowered himself before a woman. Back then, Vinson perceived Kate’s behavior as her being a little feisty. After hearing those words from her, however, he felt she was simply being insolent. 

As though to return the humiliation she had put him through, Vinson held nothing back as he slapped Kate hard across the face. 

Smack! 

As Kate had a petite figure, she lost her balance and fell to the floor after being slapped.
