Chapter 998 Holding Yourself Above Others
Just then, Kiara confidently strutted over and snatched Alex’s ATM card from his hand, casting a disdainful and scrutinizing gaze upon it. “Hmph! Are you trying to trick us with that strange black card? There’s not a single ATM card that looks like this. If this card is usable, I’ll gladly swallow my words.”
Alex directed a displeased look at Kiara, forming a deeply negative impression of the woman. Without hesitation, he swiftly took the ATM card back from her and spoke angrily. “Did I allow you to touch my belongings? It disgusts me to have someone like you handle my things!”
“You!” Kiara’s expression turned as dark as thunder, her chest rising and falling heavily in rage. Seething with fury, she thundered, “How dare you, a penniless pauper, attempt to deceive us with some random card? Do you honestly believe you can afford a twenty-five million villa?”
She then turned to Yannie and continued. “We all know he’s a pauper, and you’re the only fool who’s still enthusiastically introducing the units to him. Do you truly believe a destitute man like him can afford a twenty-five million villa? You moron!”
As if Kiara’s words had struck a nerve in her, Yannie subconsciously lowered her head.
She’s right. Not everyone can afford a luxury villa, let alone the best and most expensive villa in Del Costa!
In a low voice, Yannie retorted, “Kiara, it isn’t your place to interfere in my affairs. Have a positive mindset, will you? Whether they choose to buy a villa is entirely their decision. I’m simply doing my job. unlike you, constantly holding yourself above others.”
Fury surging within her, Kiara was ready to retaliate when the middle-aged man she had been assisting interrupted with a question, “Hey! How much does this villa cost in full?”
Kiara’s face lit up with a smug expression upon hearing his voice, and a sense of triumph washed over her as she thought, All my hard work has paid off! After tirelessly persuading him, he decided to purchase the unit!
She was satisfied with making the sale, even though it was for the least expensive unit in the area, costing only five million.
Kiara’s expression turned increasingly smug as she lifted her chin arrogantly and chuckled at Yannie. “See that? There’s more than just a slight difference between us. All you can do now is stand there and watch as this penniless pauper wastes your time!”
With that, Kiara spun on her heels and left, humming a tune as she walked away.
Yannie stood there, a look of disappointment on her face. Truth be told, she was rather envious of her colleague’s ability to sell a villa.
Taking a deep breath, Yannie pushed aside her lingering resentment and turned around to face Alex and Jessica.
She mustered a polite smile, then apologized to them, “I’m really sorry, Sir, Miss. My colleague and I tend to have some disagreements between ourselves. Please accept my heartfelt apologies.”
Having said that, Yannie paused and cast a hesitant glance at the black card in Alex’s hand. She then asked with uncertainty, “Are you sure you’d like to pay with that card, Sir?”
She was unfamiliar with the concept of a black ATM card, let alone having encountered one in the past. Consequently, she harbored doubts about its validity and remained dubious about whether it could be used for payments.
However, the man merely nodded and handed the card over to her.
Just as Yannie was about to take the card and go off to prepare the real estate contract, Kiara’s high-pitched voice sounded from a distance. It was evident that the woman had intentionally raised her voice.
“This villa costs five million, Sir. How would you like to pay?”
Yannie was well aware of Kiara’s deliberate intention to boast and could not help but acknowledge that the latter’s scheme had worked. At that moment, Yannie truly felt a pang of envy toward her colleague’s ability to successfully make the sale.
Furthermore, she had never encountered a peculiar black ATM card like the one Alex presented to her, so naturally, she had reservations about its functionality for making payments.
On the other side, upon discovering that the ordinary-looking villa would cost five million to acquire, the middle-aged man became hesitant.
