“Boom boom…”
“Open the door. Or I will let you die in your boots.”
The sound of smashing the door, yelling, and cursing could be heard without end outside the house. Emily was scared that she held the phone tightly and she could feel her heart thumping.
After about ten minutes, Oskar called her and told her that he had arrived at the elevator.
At that moment, she could feel a great sense of security. She leaned forward and look through the peephole. Oskar showed her half of his head in front of the peephole. For fear that she couldn’t see it, he specially held out two fingers to show her his scissor hands.
Emily felt so nervous. She saw Oskar was just next to these two men, but he still dared to greet her. She felt speechless and said, “Mr. Miller, please be careful. Don’t let them see you.”
Considering the potential danger, she then asked, “What are they holding?”
Oskar didn’t take it seriously. He hid at the elevator entrance and said, “I’m afraid they have a knife and gun.”
Emily was thrown into panic, “Then you hurry to hide inside. Don’t let them see you. The police will arrive later.”
After she finished speaking, she heard Oskar chuckle. And then he said with a sense of teasing, “You are such a yellow-bellied guy. They dare not do anything, just with two wooden sticks in their hands.”
When she just wanted to scold him for not being careful, a man’s rough voice sounded outside the door and through the mobile phone at the same time, “Hey, who the hell are you talking about?”
Oskar didn’t think too much and just responded, “I’m talking about you!” He hooked his index finger and looked like a ruffian, “Don’t look at me there. If you can, just come here.”
As soon as she wanted to say something, Oskar suddenly hung up the phone. A loud sound came from the outside, and then came a dirty word, “Bah! Fuck off.”
After spitting, he flung his stick on the ground and knocked on the door, “I’ve driven them away. Open the door quickly and invite me in for a cup of tea.”
“Wait a minute. I’ll move the sofa first.”
Emily previously took a lot of effort to drag the sofa to the door, but after what happened just now, she felt discouraged and couldn’t move the sofa at all.
In spite of anything, when the door opened, Oskar just walked into the house, and then sat on the sofa. He smiled and stared up at her, “I thought they were bandits, so I missed a few red lights on the way.”
Although the most dangerous part was gone now, it was still impossible for her to ridicule and laugh with him. Hearing his words, Emily subconsciously saw what time it was.
Emily was startled when she saw the watch, “It just takes you 15 minutes to come here from the east of the city. Did you fly here?”
Oskar said, “Do you really see me as a superman?” I was in a hotel when you called me. Otherwise, I couldn’t have arrived here now.”
Emily brought him the water. He held the bottle and then opened it, “Whom have you offended? Do you need my help?”
She had known that it was Dylan.
