During those four years, Dragon Club was chaotic and defeated. The situation at home was complicated by the Bissel and the McCarthy family feud.
His way must have been harder and more dangerous.
So, with this thing, it would actually keep him safe, at least sometimes.
Queeny wondered, and at that moment, the warm hand reached out again and silently grasped her hand in the dark.
As if they understood each other, they turned their heads and looked into each other’s eyes again.
They saw movement and affection in each other's eyes.
Queeny was a little stunned.
At that moment, a warm suddenly welled up in her heart.
A different feeling arose from her heart and made her a little confused.
She jerked her hand away and whispered, “Mind your manners, this is in public!”
Her evasiveness and shyness made him smile delightedly.
He did not force her, but did not withdraw his hand. He just laid it there and whenever she leaned over, she would touch his hand.
Queeny, a little confused, did not dare to look at him and turned her head to look to the direction of the stage.
The next few items were either the instruments used by emperors and ministers in ancient times, or jewels and jade worn by a certain concubine.
Neither Felix nor Queeny was interested and, therefore, neither made a move.
Irvin, on the other hand, ended up buying Martha a fabulous set of red coral jewelry.
As there were a lot of auction items today, two hours passed quickly.
The host announced a 20-minute intermission, and then the second half began.
The crowd dispersed and began to walk out into the hall for a little exercise and rest.
Queeny and Felix walked out, too.
Irvin and Martha naturally walked with them. Perhaps because they getting to know each other, Martha looked less shy than she had at first. She and Irvin were talking and laughing now, and the atmosphere was quite lively.
The four of them went out into the hall. Soon someone came to talk to Felix.
A balding middle-aged man with a big belly walked up with a glass of champagne and said with a smile, “Congratulations, Mr. Bissel! Let me propose a toast to your new collection.”
Felix responded with a faint sip of wine.
“Mr. Bissel,” he said with a smile, “I don't know if you've heard, but there’s another treasure on the auction block today.”
Felix raised his eyebrow. “Yes.”
“Is that why you're here?”
Felix looked playfully in the eye and smiled. “That's probably why most of the people are here today.”
He had thought he would agree.
But he just sighed, shook his head, and, mysteriously, leaned in and said, “To be honest, I don't really believe in resurrecting the dead, you know. It's hard to say whether this thing works or not. But it's not an auspicious thing now that everyone’s trying to get it like crazy.”
Felix’s eyes narrowed slightly.
“You have a good point, Mr. Clemen.” He said in a low voice.
