Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 119

Nell darted a cold glance at her. “Oh? Kindness?”

She scoffed. “If it’s kindness, why doesn’t she give it to you instead? Aren’t you her favorite granddaughter?”

“Nell Jennings!”

Shaun reproached in fury.

Celine put on an upset look as though she was wronged.

“Sister, you know I already have Brother Jay. How can you say such a thing? Grandmother has always doted on you but you yourself...”

“Enough!”

Sylvia interrupted her before turning over to stare at Nell with a glint in her eyes.

“Just say it. Do you agree to this marriage arrangement?”

Nell threw a glance at Dylan.

Dylan eagerly kept a close eye on her, not flinching despite all that was said earlier.

So it seemed that Sylvia had told him about her relationship with Gideon.

Ha! Since someone was willing to jump straight into the fire, she might as well help him with his wish.

She faintly replied, “I never said no.”

Sylvia’s eyes lit up. “So you’re saying yes?”

“I could say yes but for the time being, I want to move back in.”

Celine frowned. “Sister, don’t you have your own place to stay?”

Nell gave her a fake smile.

“Weren’t you the one who said Gideon and I aren’t in it for the long run? If that’s the case, I should move out.”

“But you have your own house...”

“Are you saying no? Forget it then!” Nell said.

Sylvia immediately cut in. “I agree with it!”

She paused before continuing in a low voice. “You are part of our family, so of course you have to marry out of the family. It’s decided then. I don’t want to hear any more objections.”

Celine was in the dumps about Nell moving back in but her mood quickly picked up at the thought that Nell would soon marry a person like Dylan.

Apart from her, Dylan was feeling over the moon.

One minute the woman was brusque towards him; the next, she turned around and gave her word to their marriage.

Was this a pie in the sky realized?

With his face red from being hot with emotions, he rubbed his hands together.

“We should fix a date!”

Sally commented, “Oh, I just happen to have a friend who checked an auspicious date for her daughter. She mentioned that this coming weekend is a good date but it’s pretty rushed.”

“No, it’s not hasty at all. Doesn’t that leave us with a week?”

Shaun uttered.

Dylan grew even more excited.

“It is indeed pressing for time to be married this weekend but it’s not like it can’t be done. Let me return to make preparations. I won’t do you wrong.”

Without a word, Nell curled her lips into a smile.

Sylvia smiled and remarked, “We’ll be troubling you then. You know youngsters nowadays, getting hitched after knowing each other for three days. The weekend marks one week of you two knowing each other. It’s not rushed at all. As for the wedding, it can be replaced on a later date.”

“Yes.” Shaun echoed her views. “Mr. Cap, if you really don’t want to do Nelly wrong, you can make it up with more betrothal gifts.”

Sally swiftly shot a steely look of warning at Shaun.

Holding his tongue, Shaun turned and kept his eyes peeled on Nell’s expression.

However, the girl, who should be angry or at least displeased, was taking a scoop out of her soup to drink. There was no sign of ill humor.

It was as though they were in discussion of another matter unrelated to her.
