Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 118

Also, why was he saying that some people did not suit her?

Was he referring to Jason or Gideon?

Nell was amused. Unwilling to waste another breath with this man, she quickened her pace.

Dylan too made haste. As they advanced into the dining hall, he suddenly grabbed her by the wrist to help her up.

“Ms. Jennings, watch your step.”

Out of instinct, Nell withdrew her arm and turned to glare at him.

Of course she was watching where her feet took her. Nell had walked the same path from the living room to the dining hall countless times before the age of eighteen after all. Sure, it had been several years since she last walked the path, but it was not as though it was so unfamiliar that she would stumble and fall.

It was obvious that the man did it on purpose.

He deliberately put up a provocative front in public, showing that they both were on intimate terms.

As expected, she heard Celine’s giggles coming from the dining hall.

“Oh! I was wondering what took sister and Brother Cap so long when we are all already here? It seems you both intentionally lagged behind. Brother Cap, my sister is a gentle and modest person, don’t you take advantage of her.”

Dylan burst out laughing. “No, no. Ms. Jennings is such a beautiful woman, of course I’ll love her dearly. Why would I take advantage of her?”

Sylvia was pleased at the sight.

With a smile, she happily nodded. “It’s a great thing that you two hit it off. Come, take a seat here!”

Dylan turned to grin at Nell. “Nelly, let’s go over.”

The frown on Nell’s face deepened.

She was feeling sick to the stomach.

Seeing that Nell remained still, Sally immediately got up.

“Nelly, come sit here! Sit next to Celine.”

It looked as though Sally got Nell out of a fix when in fact, it was rather absurd to have her take a seat on Celine’s right side with Jason sitting on the left.

Why give her the front row seat to watch them be lovey-dovey?

Even if they were alright with it, she still found it disgusting!

Without a word, Nell took strides to the seat just beneath Sylvia and the right side of Shaun.

That was supposed to be Sally’s seat but it was vacant because she got up.

Nell looked at her and flashed a faint smile. “Aunt Sally, I’ll sit here. I’m sure you’re okay with it!’

The smile on Sally’s face froze.

Sylvia immediately became sulky.

“Nell Jennings! That seat is reserved for elders! Who do you think you are sitting there?”

Nell indifferently replied, “This used to be my mother’s seat. I miss her. Can’t I sit over here in her memory?”

Sylvia turned blue in the face from rage.

Shaun was not too happy either.

Ever since her mother died, his daughter had become a whole other person. He was put off by Nell’s constant attempts of finding fault and taking a dig at him.

With her sitting beside him, there was no way Shaun could sit down and have a decent meal.

With that, Shaun threw a fierce look and solemnly answered, “Nell Jennings, sit where you’re supposed to! This seat belongs to your Aunt Sally.”

Nell persisted. “This is my mother’s seat.”

“You!”

Sally stepped in on time.

“Just leave it. It’s only a seat. It’s fine. Let Nelly sit there if she wants to. I’ll just sit over here.”

She then took a seat at the foot of the table with grievance.

Although it appeared a compromise had been reached; in reality, it put Nell under a microscope of scrutiny. Even Dylan, who had a good opinion of her, could not help but frown.
