“Grandmother, what should we do now?
“Let’s calm down for now. I’ll have to think of a way to deal with Dylan Cap. We can talk about everything else later.”
“Alright.”
The Jennings left the hospital.
On the other side, Nell got into her car and answered her phone that had been vibrating in her bag for a long time.
“Are you still at the hospital? How did it go?”
The man got to the point as soon as the call went through.
Nell was startled, a little surprised at how Gideon knew her whereabouts.
“I just left the hospital. Well… You could say that I dealt with it! I reckon the Jennings family should be dying of anger right about now.”
Sensing the cheer in her tone, the man also grew happy and could not help but smile, finally reassured.
“I’ll deal with Dylan Cap. What are your plans for the Jennings family?”
Nell was stunned. She was about to say that he did not have to intervene but thinking about the power backing Dylan Cap, as well as everyone in the Jennings family taking his side, she might not be able to bring him down even if she reported him for attempted rape.
Earlier, she had said all that deliberately to anger him, but thinking about it now, it was indeed difficult to deal with.
Thus, she did not reject the man’s suggestion and said, “I want to break off my relationship with the Jennings family.”
She should have made this choice five years ago.
Unfortunately, at that time, even though it was painful and sad for her, she still held onto the illusion that they were a family.
After all, they had also spoiled and loved her when she was young. They held her in their arms and called her their little Nelly. The warm affection stored in her memories was not something that could be erased in a moment.
It was only now that she truly gave up.
Some things could not be kept just because she wanted them.
Time had already degenerated it. From the moment Celine and her mother came into the Jennings family, her grandmother was no longer her grandmother, and her father was no longer her father.
The matter had come to an end. What was over was over, so there was no need to look back.
Gideon did not expect that she would be so decisive. Given the capricious nature of women, he was just worried that she was forced to make this decision because she was too upset.
His eyes darkened slightly and he gave a hum.
“Alright. I’ll handle that.”
“It’s fine, just leave it to me! This is something I want to do myself.”
The man went silent.
Nell explained, “I don’t just want to sever ties with them. I also want to take back everything that belongs to me, and make them take back all the mud they threw at me! Gideon, I don’t want to use another person to deal with this. If I can’t even handle this by myself, then I don’t deserve to stand beside you.”
The man’s low and pleasing voice sounded from the other end.
“You’re good enough to stand by my side even without doing anything.”
“My heart would be uneasy. I’m not a canary in a cage. Gideon, please believe me.”
There was a brief silence on the phone. Time passed slowly like an hourglass.
After an unknown amount of time, he finally spoke.
“Alright.”
The simple word immediately made Nell feel relieved.
She was genuinely worried that he would not agree. After all, the man’s desire for control was well known to her. Although his words were crisp now, it might not be easy to act on them.
However, she was still very happy. After all, he respected her choice.
Thinking about this, Nell could not help but smile.
“You have to promise me one thing though.” Gideon suddenly said.
“What is it?”
“I’ll only give you a month. After the month is up, you have to go back to the capital with me and become my genuine wife.”
